I live in the Med Center and work out at home. I run at the UT Med track...when it's not too dark! I'm still looking for somewhere to train that isn't superficial and is a good price.

Worked out there for almost a year. Liked Costas just a little farther than I wanted to drive daily after I moved. Real nice pricing also.

I work for UT in the Texas Medical Center. I train at the Ballys on Post Oak in the Galleria. I used to go to the one in West U, but it is too big, too busy, and too run down.

I live off jones and cypresswood, so I could go to the Y right behind me, but the Costas pricing is much more attractive to me. Only about a 10 minute or so drive.

Im more like Spring Cypress and grant so it is a little trek for me.....I lived closer when I went there. Bought a house so don't plan on moving any time soon.

I'm near 249 and the beltway, near gessner rd.

Got all clubs pass for 24hr, so I sometimes drop in the one on
1960 & jones rd. But I'm always at 24hr westheimer and hayes
since it's a few blocks from work.

There have been one or two gyms in that strip mall at the corner of Holcombe and Greenbriar - near Rice Village/West U and Texas Medical Center. When I drove past there on Friday, the sign in front now reads "24 Hour Fitness Express." I wonder if 24 Hour Fitness bought them out. With a name like "Express," it is probably not that big, but at least those who belong to 24 Hour Fitness now have another place they can go to.

24 Hour Fitness did buy out that space. The express deal is nuts, I don't understand why anyone would truly want that. They don't do full 60 minute cardio classes. They do half hour classes, hence the express name.

What's the BCM gym like? Everytime I think about joining a school gym, medical school or not, I freak. So many students and I know that prime time is probably completely nutso. Do you like it? Or do you find it to be crowded. Is it reasonably priced? And where is it? The only med school gym that I know of in that area is UT Med

BCM gym is fairly small, old equipment - kinda the stereotypical basement gym, just not in a basement

. I don't go during peak times and haven't actually been there in a while. I keep my membership because it's super cheap (student rates) and there is a racquetball court there. I would not shower there though - ugh. I really loved UT Rec, but I don't drive to school anymore and don't like to lug all my stuff around. So I'm roughing it at the gym in my apt complex now

Anyone been to the 24 hr fitness in Meyerland plaza? That's right across the street from me and I've been contemplating joining.

Yeah I did not think it would have much, certainly not for bodybuilders. I think it is kinda funny now, since now 24 Hour essentially has 4 (or in this case, 3 1/2) facilities up and down the west loop. The other three being Post Oak/San Felipe, Richmond and 610, and Meyerland Plaza.

I've never been to that one @ Signe...but I like 24. I'm thinking of joining myself. They work with you around the end of the month, so I'll try to hustle them then. If not, I'll keep going where I've been going. It's free, dirty, and I'm usually the only one there. PERFECT!

Used to live there, & worked out at World Gym on Richmond in the Galleria area, and also the Balley located inside the loop, in the Rice U area...
