Working the heavy bag sans gloves..
I've started to do heavy bag training with just my hand wraps on and without my gloves. I usually punch faster, and I like the feeling of hitting harder. Is this overall a bad idea? My hands and knuckles feel fine afterwards, so I don't think that I'm doing any damage to them..

just use gloves. A broken hand/finger/knuckle takes a while to heal

u shoudl know the answer to this question if u need to ask it.
just wait until you throw a hook and you mess up ur wrist and can't box for a week
^depressing
if i do light gloves or no-gloves (jsut wraps) I never do more than just tap the bag. I try to do this to work on speed and the snap of my punch. If you like the feeling of hitting w/o gloves, I say you give this a try.

He's right. My boxer's fracture is on week 6 and still at least two weeks away. I am getting the 3 pins they put in it from surgery taken out today.
They make "bag gloves" for a reason.

I do it a little every once and while, just to get a feel for bare knuckle. I don't think its a problem if you dont go ****ing nuts on it.

using gloves will help your strength and stamina while also providing protection

I was actually trained this way. Over time your hand stoughen. Plus the wraps should help prevent the fractures and sprained wrists.

This is why you would want to use gloves in my opinion. I use the 20 oz for this. Makes the workout harder.
Hard to give advice on this. My advice would go against the numbers here. I used to train what's called stone hands, so hitting a bag with out any protection doesn't cause me probs. I've been doin it for years (actually have more injuries from weight lifting than I ever got from this). And the only time I ever tweaked my wrist of hurt my hands was when I was wearing gloves (lol).
I'll say this: always wrap your hands. Sparring, bag work, pad work, whatever...good wrapping technique will protect you from a lot. Make sure you pack the hand with out cutting off the circulation.
