some time ago I heard the Rock on the radio in an interview

he basically was saying we'd hear from him in a sketch soon (hair vs hair match for wrestlemania)

& besides that he really didn't know & didn't think he'd be back in the ring

after the Benoit incident I heard rumor that the WWE was considering offering the Rock a lot of money to return

but like I say I think that was a rumor

Rock did say he was finished with wrestling. Made it clear that it is something he did in his past but won't be going back to. He was even done as far as making special appearances according to him. People saying no 5 years ago isn't surprising considering it repeatedly came from The Great One himself.

Yeah he was pretty clear he was Dwayne Johnson at that point. Dumbass move imo, not that it didn't work out for him it just pissed off a lot of the people who made him who he was/is

I'm glad he changed his mind but I too was very skeptical then and doubted he'd return. I think I even said he's not coming back and have no reason to feel foolish that I was wrong. I'm not going to eat my words just because he's gone against his word.

IMO he had some agent feeding the sht about being done with wrestling. It was obviously some strategy to distance himself from it so he could be a bigger star.

Ironic that he's prob a bigger star and starring in bigger movies than ever now, and he's on RAW every week.

Yeh he was trying to break away from being the Rock the wrestler and becoming Dwayne the Hollywood Megastar. It worked.
