Forum Downtime and Lost Posts.
As many of you know, the forum was down for about 36 hours recently. We had a major hard drive crash on our database server which threatened to completely wipe out our current message board data. (This was not a security related issue, just a hardware issue.)
Many of our recent backups were also on this server. Luckily, with the help of some talented engineers we were able to recover the last backup and get the forum back online.
Any posts made since our last full backup (Thursday, December 16th at 2:00 a.m.) up until the forum was taken down (around 7:30 a.m. Mountain Time on Saturday, December 18th) would not have been in this backup and they have been lost. Luckily, it was only about one day's worth.
We apologize for the problem. Luckily, it was not as bad as it could have been. We are working to make sure it never happens again, even though it will probably cost us an additional $25,000 to $50,000 in hardware. It is worth it for you!
Thanks for your understanding and thanks for helping make Bodybuilding.com the most popular bodybuilding and fitness forum in the world!
Thanks!
