not yet, I want to do a little more research first. However the first thing that Dr. Joe Klemczewski (natural pro bodybuilder and former Genetitec president) told me was to never ever to something drastic on contest day...more often than not it will screw you. I'll have to talk 2 him about it.

I got Hot Stuff Vasodilator from bb.com. It does work really well. All the competitors used it at the 2 shows I did this year. It was only around $10 or so and I have enough to last at least 4 more comps. It's a good product.

If you want to improve vascularity, there is an old competition trick to drink 100 ml of red wine with 50 ml of glycerol about half an hour prior to a showing, and that brings out the vascularity real well for about 3 hours. All my athletes use this technique with great success. Its been around for over 30 years, yet most amateur bodybuilders are not familiar with it.

I have been backstage with many a fellow competitor who bemoaned the fact that his wine/glycerol mix backfired on him.
Granted, I don't know if they measured anything or any of the other things they might have been doing.
I think everyone has their own bag of tricks. For example, I don't carb load: I fat load. I find this works better for me as the "spillover" issue is negated. I also like a few hershey's kisses while pumping up. The sugar and fat in the chocolate seems to bring out the vascularity for me.

I keep things tight for all my athletes, so I can change things at the last minute if need be. If glycerol/wine backfires on you, that means you didn't properly cut, and you've lost your competition before you walk out on stage anyway. In which case your vascularity should be your last concern ...

last minute tricks
I agree that any "last minute tricks" are not going to create something that just isn't there.
Do you usually have your people conform to being ready the week prior so that you can tinker?
-
Chairman of the board
Usually we are talking about big shows and they have preselections the weekend before. So in essence all my athletes are contest ready 1.5 weeks prior to any real show. That means under 5% body-fat (I count on 1% fluctuation) and completely tanned. That leaves me with diuretics, tanning extra's, glycerol, wine, Prep H and all that other stuff left to make the difference. Judges also know that my athletes come in another 15% sharper come contest time than they do on the preselection.

Preselection? That must be some European thing?
This is a little off topic, but do you have some people who don't measure so well on the calipers, but really still look awesome when actually posing?
-
Chairman of the board
You are not going to tell me if you want to be in a really big international show, you don't have to do preselections first ... I mean you must be aware that they don't just let anyone enter a European or World championship.
Yes, I have had people who did shows upward of 6% body-fat and still placed really well. Some people have genetically gifted midsections that don't hold a lot of fat and have thick protruding muscle bellies. That means they can easily show their best form with a sub-par dieting effort. But its a rare breed.

Sorry, I just never heard the term before. We have a tiered system here in the US, where you must qualify for the Nationals be winning a regional or state show, usually termed a "National Qualifier". Typically, the top 2 finishers from the regionals in each weight class are considered qualified.
The weigh-in at Nationals is typically a couple of days before the actual show. Most competitors use this time to employ the tricks you mentioned previously.
-
Chairman of the board
oh well, over here there are criteria you must meet for international competition. That means there are what you could call national qualifiers the week before. But since these criteria have to be met, it may very well be that only one or even none are selected in a certain weight class, and that 5 or 6 are selected from another weight class and so on. Its not about finishing the best, its about being able to bring the package that gives these international competitions the quality they have. If you select the two winners from each country, you end up with a number of people there that are nowhere near the standard of the rest of the competition.

If u wanna look cutt u should take Dandelion root and Glycerol.
Sometimes glycerol dont work because u dont drink enough water!!!! It works fine with me cause i take it with plenty of water. For every 45 grams of glycerol, u should drink ATLEAST 36 ounces of water. Sounds like a lot but it helps. Glycerol forces the water into ur muscles makin them look bigger. No water, no results!

what's the timing for the dandelion/glycerol mix? Just before prejudging or what?
