Hey all, here's an interesting topic..
Lets say you are to not work a muscle for a certain period of time...
now the question is, how long of not working that muscle would it take for that specific muscle to start degrading and atrophy, IF YOUR DIET IS IN CHECK.
I vote 1.5-2 month.

Some muscles can start to atrophy within 24 hours! But rapid atrophy only really occurs when there is injury, swelling or immobilisation of the limb.
Under normal conditions, muscle will start to atrophy in 2-3 weeks if an adequate training stimulus is not provided. Remember, it is load that stimulates muscle to grow or maintain size, diet provides the materials to build or maintain muscle. The science is out there!
