Deep Breathing Exercises

Does anyone here do them? Are they a waste of time? I'm an ecto with a shallow rib cage and i was wondering if deep-breathing exercises would deepen my rib cage noticeably.

I think he is talking about doing things like breathing squats, which I have heard can really help widen the ribcage, but I dont know how to do them. so I am interested in hearing this as well. Do yall know any others??

Wouldn't training you lungs give you a larger ribcage? Just a gess.

you'll probably get to breathe deeper and lower down, maybe some chest stretching too, but i heard ribcage doesn't grow.

Expanding your rib-cage through breathing.

hey - I am coming a little late to this conversation. There are many many ways to expand, open and shift your rib cage and related muscles through breathing. The trick is doing it in a "non-habitual" way so that you can find the new space. I know that probably sounds strange.

I do something call "paradoxical breathing" that can expand the ribs. Other people call it abdominal breathing or belly breathing. It can also give you more power when youlift because it strengthens the diaphragm and your breathing in general. It's done lying down and you need about 20 minutes. I have a free download on the bottom of one of my web pages:

cheers - Ryan

I can tell from experience my ribcage grew a lot on my track and field days.

Ribs are held together by cartilage, and cartilage can stretch. So 2+2...

And wow strong thread necromancy skills.

I do them every morning and they increase my lung capacity and have helped improve my cardio sessions. I have a big rib cage anyway ( I think) but they have made my intercostals more visible, check out my profile page and picks and you'll see

I can give you a list of them if you wanna try
