    Can you feel fat burning?

A good hour after intense cardio I'll be sitting down and feel a sizzle in my legs and arms - it feels like it's coming from just under my skin (not the deep tissue oxygen starved burn you get from lifting).

I was wondering if any knowledgeable folks on the board know if this is the feel of fat burning. Could the burning/popping feeling be the fat cells opening up?

If it helps, I'm on a cutting diet right now. 50/30/20, 5 meals a day. This burning feeling comes about an hour after my morning cardio (60 intense mins) on an empty stomach.

    Just curious!

    Thanks,

    Nanoo

just a question for yourself are u doing 60 mins of high intensity cardio on an empty stomach???

IMHO that is far too much i recommend 35 - 45 of LOW-medium intensity. Its quite possible that feeling could be the affect of your muscles being burned for energy! IMO

    just my thoughts.........

Today was really an unnatural day. I usually do 60 low-mod intensity on my stationary bike. I haven't been seeing great results in fat loss, so I thought I'd do a bit of high intensity today, not intending to do an hour, but I was so psyched I went much longer than I planned. I won't be doing it again.

Though, I do get the same buring feeling under my skin from a short interval HIT run.

    Thanks for the response,

I don't think it's the fat burning. I know my legs get "ichy" from the inside from doing an hour+ cardio session.

A sign of burning fat or cals? I'm not sure what you mean.

Oh. But you should't have one after cardio or lifting.
