Question How do you wash Fresh Vegetables?

I've heard different ways. Some people say hot water, some say cold, some say to soak in vinegar, freeze it for a week to "kill any bacteria".. someone else said they use dishsoap because its antibacterial.. eww... I heard hot water is bad because it destroys some of the nutrients..

So what's the best way to clean them?

just rinse them. although i do wash apples with soap because so many people touch them at the stores.

if you're going to cook it anyways then hot water won't be doing anything bad.

just save yourself the trouble and by frozen veggies and use them as need. I get a 4 pound bag of broccoli for like $5 which is pretty good and convienient as they are microwaveable

Cold water, and just rinse them unless it's mushrooms, where you don't have to do anything to them unless they're grubby looking.

if youre that paranoid about germs and dont think rinsing them will clean them enough, there's actually a specific vegetable and fruit wash that comes in a spray bottle you can get at the grocery store. my theory is that if there WERE any germs on the apple and the sink water didnt rinse them off, the nutrients inside the apple will do somethin about it once inside your body. i could be completely wrong, but f- it. lol

the fruit wash is called "fit"...but it doesn't do anything in the way of washing off germs.

i just wash my apples with soap because my fruit store is in a bad part of town and lots of weirdos are always touching the fruit. i don't want to get hepatitis or anything.
