Whats the big deal with this brand of whey. It seems like the bodybuilding.com website praises it. I thought most whey's were basically the same standard and theres really now magic kind.
so what makes this stand out. The price is pretty high too. Not high enough to make you go holy crap like muscletech products but still a little high. so is there a secret to optimum whey that i dont know?

Dymatize protein failed label claims by 10%... ON 100% whey has been shown to meet label claims. That alone says a lot to me.
However, ON is highly regarded on this web site because it's a relatively inexpensive whey that tastes and mixes good. It's certainly not the "best" product out there, but it might be one of the best budget wheys."Like those in the valley behind us, most people stand in sight of the spiritual mountains all their lives and never enter them, being content to listen to others who have been there and thus avoid the hardships."

For whatever reason they raised the price months ago by about $5. Now, with the price of all whey products going up I think you are right -- many sites are charging $34-38 for 5 pounds of ON 100%, which is feel is not in the economy class anymore .
Hopefully it comes down again, but that might just be wishful thinking..."Like those in the valley behind us, most people stand in sight of the spiritual mountains all their lives and never enter them, being content to listen to others who have been there and thus avoid the hardships."

ON is very mainstream. You see it being pushed here, you see it being pushed at Vitamin Shoppe, etc.
And to it's credit, it is very decently priced product. But over the years I learned that protein does make a difference. Therefore I choose to purchase what I consider higher quality blends. But to each his own I guess.

Always a pure Isolate for my pre-workout protein shake.
A good blend as a Meal Replacement.
A Quality Casein blend for before bed.
Usually the top of my refrigerator has on it -
Giant's WPH
Ergopharm I-Pro
Ergopharm Mass Meal
Xtreme Formulations Ultra Peptide
And that is just one month's supply of Protein. This has worked GREAT for me. I honestly can't express how much my training and body composition changed with well timed protein. I started really focusing on this back in 2004 or 2005 and it made a huge difference. I go 300 grams of protein per day from supplements and 300 per day from food.

I've recently bought a ton (30 lbs) of milk & egg protein. Universal. Vanilla flavor. I'm adding it to my ON. ON is a great product to fall back on, a standby if you will. Not to mention my kids love the choc mint flavor.
I'm also adding it to my I-Pro, Whey Supremacy, & Pro Complex.Strong enough for a man, but made for a woman.
