    Tricep Mass/Strength

    Whatsup...

    6'4 200lbs...my max bench now is 250...doin 230 for 6 reps, 3 sets...feel like ive hit a plateau though.

when i do pulldowns i never feel like its totally isolating the tricep. anyone have any tricep isolation exercises that really kick ass? would be mad appreciative. or any exercises in general that anyone has felt directly bumped their bench press strength.

-pressdowns suck if you're trying to build any form of tricep strength

    stick with

    - close-grip/reverse-grip/floor pressing type motions
    -extensions
    -dips

I'm a fan of CG ez bar bench... bar should always be perpendicular with the upper part of your abs. Reverse grip also works well for me.

Floor pressing is the bomb for tri mass/strength. 1 sec pause at bottom and your away.

Come on Aj, there is nothing wrong with pressdowns for tri's. My late friend josh loved them and he had 19 3/4" arms at a body weight of 224.

I agree weighted close grip pushups using pushup bars are excellent for mass and strength in the tri's.

Yep. I do mine on the floor with safety stands. My tri's have always responded better to partial rep movements.

I love using the ez bar for close grip bench, but I have found that my tri's respond better when I bring the bar to my chin, rather than to my midsection.

He said for strength, sounds to me like you're talking about mass. Anyway, I think the best bench booster, is close grip bench, and I pause for 1-2 seconds at the bottom for football

Fuzz waser you ever do narrow grip floor pressing? This is my favourite tri mass/strength builder. I tried rack-lockouts but wasn't blown away to be honest.

yeah. I do a lot of floor pressing. I always train with a narrow grip too. I never do rack lockouts. Waste of time in my opinon. Try doing floor pressing with dumbells too. Thats one of my current favs

Yep, narrow grip floor pressing is the best exercise for purely beefing up the tri's that I know of.

I was doing those and heavy overhead dumbell extensions and reverse pulldowns a while back and my tri's were the biggest they've been. Then for some mad reason I decided to switch around.

Yeah, I messed up and did that too for a short time. And my tri's did lose some overall mass. Now that I have thrown them back into the mix with Atrainers behind the back pulldowns and reverse grip skullcrushers, my tri's are back to looking 100% swole again.

HUH! I built up to 130 lb (net weight, not a crossover stack) cable extensions. Now remember, mine are positioned so you are at the worst leverage disadvantage at full extension, not like traditional ones where you can hold the full extension forever because the weight has disappeared. I'd say that is a large amount of strength.
