Guys,
What can I do to get back my will to lift again. She was everything to me. I havent been able to eat in a week and when i tried to lift i lost about 4 reps on my bench. It makes it seem like it is not worthi it anymore. We dated for over a year. Anyone been through this before, im sure some have. I just really dont care to do it anymore. before it happened It was my life.

I am in the same situation as you. Well, not exactly though. My girl just needs some time t get herself together before she comes back to me. I did nothing, she is just still hurt from a previous relationship, and wants to be fully recovered so she doesn't screw **** up with me.
But anyhow, I hear you. This happened to me yesterday. I haven't eaten ****, or been to the gym. I feel like ****, my stomach hurts, I am depressed, and If I lift I may drop the weight. That is if I can even get motivated to get my ass in the gym. I am just out of it. Hopefull I can get back in on Friday.
I hope she is back with me in a week or 2, and everything can go smooth again. Damn ex-boyfriend... Like to kill the bastard. Well, not really but its his damn fault.
Just hang in there bro, we will get ourselves motivated again. Not right away, but soon.

well
this should be more of a reason for you to lift weight and get huge
1: get big and good looking = good looking girls
2: get big and good looking = make ex wish she hadnt left you
3: sit home and get fat = be lonely forever
this should really give you more motivation because your now on the hunt for a new and improved girlfriend that has long thin legs and big tits , right?Last edited by chrisw; 06-12-2002 at 11:42 PM.
Do not run away; let go. Do not seek, for it will come when least expected.

Everyone goes through this at least once in their life and its better to go through with it at a young age than as an adult

Dude, I went through the same thing couple of times as well. It hurts like hell. Not only does your nutrion and workouts start to suck but also your blood flow because the heart is soo crushed.
But here's the way I deal with any type of emotional trauma.
I think of emotions as produced by chemicals. They are absolutely meaningless. It just numerous reactions and many chemicals changing and adapting to the new changes... feelings and emotions as we know it do not exist.
Think about it.... it's just some changes that are going on in your body. Neurochemical reactions.
There are a plenty of fish in the sea. Don't let it bother you. Use this experince to train your heart. It's agood heart work out. Learn to control your blood.
Use that aggression, (that's if your pissed) to pump those extra reps. Everyone goes through these types of experiences all the time.
Another way to look at it is trying to think of someone who is less priviledged than you are... ie. some skinny geek who'll never get any chicks, or starvin marvin from ethiopia who are malnutritioned. If you can get on the net and afford time to pump iron then you got it well off. I hope this helps.Last edited by SteelMaster; 06-12-2002 at 09:41 PM.

Hey Daniel, I broke up with my g/f of a year the end of this February. You have my sympathies, I understand how you simply can't be arsed to do anything, eat proper, workout, go out and socialise, blah blah blah.
chris gave some good reasons, bump on that. I think a good week off of bodybuilding with plenty of time to think would help you sort your head out and get keen for the gym again.

Turn the negative energ to positive. think of the future and the changes you'd like to make.
Think about how you need to build up the muscle to impress more girls, or your old girl.
Pick out the positives, as hard as it may be, and focus on that both while in the gym and during the day.
Talk to a good friend about how you feel, get all the bad emotions out, the sooner the better.
We've all been through it. Best of luck to you.Being Small Sucks, Size Does Matter!!

It will take time. Eat as much you can and stick with some high rep training. Don't try and get back into it right away. As long as you get a bit of exercise, you should be able to get into things again.
