The US knew IRAQ didnt have nukes. The US just wanted to make sure he never got them. Thus, the US invaded IRAQ, preventing him from getting Nukes.
This is why we wont invade Iran. They already have nukes. Why wont we invade Iran you are asking. Because the US knows that IRAN would detonate a nuke IN Iran if it would kill our forces.
Just a theory....
