just wondering if there is a correlation to what someone can bent over barbell row and what they can flat bench with a barbell.
just realized it cuz i noticed my numbers were almost identical. today i just did 165 x 5 on BOR, and on monday i did 175 x 5 for bench. anyone else have close numbers in these?

some of it depends on bent row form because it can vary a lot. whereas u can cheat some on bench maybe, but u can cheat a LOT on bent rows
my best bench is 322.5 in 05. A few weeks back I got 315. monday I "bent rowed" 325x7 but it was really loose form.
So yeah, id say the numbers can be pretty close. Actually they SHOULD stay in the same ballpark or else the shoulder joint gets imbalanced due to a strong pull on one side but a weak pull on the other side
U see some guys who bench tons but never work their backs....eventually u see em get the shoulders rounded forward due to those strong n tight chest and front delts pulling forward with no strong back muscles pulling back

depends on the strength of the whole mid back and erectors i guess, because the bent over row involves more stabalisation and control than a bench. BB rows and deads go hand in hand pretty much because the more you can dead, the more you can stabalise in the bent over position. someone who doesnt do deads is more likley to have a big gap between the bent over row and the bench
