I'm wondering, is doing a lat pull down excercise on back/bicep day really necessary if you're already doing chin-ups and pull-ups? Any comments are welcomed.

I don't think so. You can pretty much do anything you want with a pullup bar, a dip belt, and the right attachments. And you can do it better.

Completely pointless. Stick with pullups as they are far superior.
