Okay so i trained with my friend cause my strength is pretty good now and i wanna gaib size and all he does is hypertrophy training and he is strong and big and he weighs 10 lbs less then me at same height haha. But this is what we did.
Shoulders:
Arnold press 3 sets of 8
Side and Front DB Raises: 2 sets each for 8-15 reps
Cable Pullover (idk name of exercise): 2 ses of 12
Super set pull ups with 45 plate over head: 2 sets to failure
OH Press: 2 sets of 8-12
Reverse grip pullovers: 2 sets of 8-12
Machine lat raise: 2 sets of 12
Standing DB row: 2 sets of 8-12
DB Shrugs: 2 sets of 10-15
He said he usually does 3 sets of everything but he didn't feel good? Is this good for hypertrophy training cause i wanna pit size on now, idk any hypertrophy routines. I have always trained for strength, i want size now

Umm if the numbers in your signature are current and they're 1 rep maxes I think you'd benefit from a different routine. Targeting one muscle each day is going to be very ineffective for a beginner who can see progression with a full body workout done multiple times a week.
You'll gain size with strength gains. There's not a huge difference in size between strength and hypertrophy training

Your friend is 5'10", 140lbs and you consider him big and want to take his advice on gaining muscle mass? Is this a troll thread?
If you aren't gaining, you're not eating enough. Make sure you've read the sticky threads in the nutrition forum, so you can get a good grasp on counting calories and macros to gain weight effectively.
JasonDB's 5x5 would be a nice routine to do. Or choose some other routine from the sticky threads in this forum, just don't do what your friend does. It's not going to get you the results you're after.
Regardless of what you choose to do, best of luck. It's great that you're lifting and trying to improve yourself.Lifting Log: http://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=147159883
