I grew up in California and have lived here all my life. As a result, I've been able to visit a lot of campuses and have seen a lot of beautiful women attending these schools. Yesterday, a friend and I attended the USC-UCLA game and I tell you, USC's girls are super hot. I would wager that they're as good as any other school's in the country. UCLA's women disappointed me, but I happen to know that UCSD and SDSU has some fine women as well.

too bad usc, ucla and ucsd are hard to get into. Not to mention you'd be paying off tuition for the next 10 years unless you're loaded or extremely poor.

Does anyone attend Berkeley? I'm currently a Bs/Ms.C student of Mathematics at Carleton University way up in Canada, and I'm really interested in attending Berkeley for doctoral studies in 2-3 years. It'd be nice if someone was here I could ask some questions.

If you like skinny hairy unkept tree hugger women who want to tell you how to live your life you will love Berkely.
I would rather kill myself.

i take 2 classes on the berkeley campus. the girls at berkley are all total treehuggers...either they are vegan treehugging bush hating dreadlock wearing smelly girls, or they are asian. those are the only 2 kind of females you will find there.
but it IS a great school, and it is near the city (san francisco) where you can really pick up some hot chicks at some of the greatest clubs in the nation.
Basically if you are going to Berkeley it should not be for the women, but for EDUCATION!

dude, in the first place, if I wanted to pick up chicks, I wouldn't be majoring in math.
I heard Berkeley was one of the top schools for a PhD in Mathematics in the states, that's why I'm interested.

I went to CMU with some people who ended up going to Berkeley. I could ask them although they're not exactly the PUA type. What area of math do you want to go into?

lol, I thought that being a PUA was a prerequisite for going into math.
I'm just curious how tough it is to get into graduate programs at Berkeley. They accept a lot more people than Ivy league schools. The top math school in Canada is probably Waterloo, and I'm curious how it ranks with Berkeley.
Not sure what area of math yet. Analysis definately. Perhaps applied. Topology is sometimes fun.

Yupp, definitely a larger department. I think it's the largest in the country. The impression I get is that it's much easier to get into, but of course you have a higher chance of not making it. Schools like Harvard and Princeton supposedly only accept people that they're pretty sure are going to make it. Large schools need a bunch of TAs to teach freshman calc. Ohio State seems to have that sort of problem, too. That is they'll accept a bunch of people who will be TAs for a few years and most end up dropping out by their 2nd or 3rd year.
