Is Cheerios healthy? For breakfast, I usually have two big bowls of cheerios with skim milk. This usually comes to about three-3.5 servings of Cheerios and three servings of skim milk. Each serving of Cheerios has 22 carbohydrates. Are these complex carbs, or simple carbs? I'm assuming they are complex carbs since Cheerios seems to be one of the healthiest cereals out there, but if not, should I continue eating it for breakfast?
Don't mention oatmeal or eggs, because I absolutely hate the taste of both.
I'm in a bulking session right now, if that makes any difference.

The most healthy cereal other than good ole oatmeal is Fiber One. It has the lowest GI. It also has a slew of fiber that'll keep you regular.
BTW : A lot of guys acquire the taste for oatmeal. Did you like your first drink of beer? Naw, but you learned to like it.Last edited by PsYoP78; 12-02-2004 at 04:17 PM.

LOL at the beer comment. You're right, I didn't like my first taste of beer, but I adjusted to it. But beer is completely out of my diet right now.

You can also try to look for Uncle Sams Cereal if you really can't stand the taste of Oats. Uncle Sams is certified glycemic, but it kind of tastes like stale corn flakes with a hint of cardboard...although it's pretty good nutritionally and has added flax seed. I am glad to have my oats though Maybe you'll get used to them?
Unaffiliated.

If you're going to eat Cheerios then eat the Multi-grain type. They are actually not half bad. Oats own them though, just so you know.

Quaker Oats are good. Also steal cut oats are very yummy (but expensive...and the way I go through oats, I'd be a poor man).
People do a lot of different stuff to their oats to make them palatable. Me, I just eat them raw with milk on them.
Some people put a little splenda in them, some berries, some peanut butter, mix them into cottage cheese, the options are endless.
I have a recipie for pancakes that has egg whites, protein powder, and oats in it even.============================

Now it tastes great!
Too bad it doesn't fill me up, though.
