Suited Lifters
What do you guys think of suited competitions? I would never want to compete in one because it is not the real weight my BODY can lift...

If they are allowed then use one, unless you want to get destroyed, If you want to lift in a raw comp then do it and not worry about what other people do.

You're no doubt wondering why the responses to your oh-so-thought-provoking post have been so negative, and why you've all of a sudden got negative rep.
Well, here's the deal:
1. This comes up about, oh, once a week on pretty much every weightlifting-related board in the world.
2. People are pretty much divided into pro-gear, anti-gear, and "who cares", and these threads never change anybody's mind.
3. Every argument either side might come up with has been beaten into the ground ten years ago
4. Look at any national-level PL competition and see who the sponsors are.
Don't want to lift in a suit? Cool. Don't.

100% RAW is all I pay attention to...
I suggest the OP just do the same the rest is a joke imho but no point in rattling the bionic lifters cages on here.
I mean when the BP WR goes up like 300lbs in a few years obviously something is amiss.

I think a suit is a little formal to weight lift in, especially a three peice, though a tight vest may mentally help.
Some folks advocate raw powerlifting, but I think a bunch of guys spotting each other lifting, especially squatting, while naked is not all that appropriate either (no dis to those of you who like it though).
When it is all said and done I think a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, or even a tank top, is probably most appropriate... but to each their own.

Yeah, lifts in gear don't count because their all the same no matter your strength. Scot let me borrow his bench shirt a few weeks ago and I nailed 1010 lbs. No big deal.
