About a week ago, I did crunches. I usually don't do excercise, or basically none at all. During the following days, I had soreness which was pretty much expected. Now, I have nausea, tenderness, stomach tightness, bloating, excessive bathroom trips (#1 and #2), headaches and discomfort when my jeans cut into my stomach. Is this normal? Will it heal by itself?

Sorry but thats not normally experienced when beggining a training routine and is outside the scope of possible help anyone can offer you online. I've helped hundreds of people begin exercising and never saw such a related issue arise.
The good news is I think it is purely coincidental and once a doctor diagnoses it and you solve it you can continue exercising normally again.
Crunches by themselves would just fatigue the targetted muscles and break down some muscle tissue causing mild to moderate soreness, they wouldn't lead to a seeimingly systematic effect on your body from bathroom issues to headaches . That sounds like a virus or infection, but again isn't diagnosable online.Fitness Author at Bodybuilding.com, T-Nation, EliteFTS

I used to get sick when I had baby abs, every single time I'd try and train them. If it is like what I experienced then it is just you adjusting to the new muscle. It is weird to have muscle over your stomach and it can cause discomfort at first.
One thing that helped me out immensely, was to not eat or drink before directly training my core.

You don't normally exercise "...none at all..." but started doing crunches. Are you trying to make your stomach smaller?
Keep doing crunches, and every time you do some crunches also do some dorsal raises. Lie on your front (like you just collapsed from.too many push ups ). Tighten your back to lift your feet back up off the ground a tiny bit and lift hands off ground a few inches, hold for 15 seconds, rest and repeat another 2 times.
Take it really easy at first until you adjust to exercise, don't push so had that you make yourself sick.
But.. the exercises above are very *very* good for you, but to lose stomach you need to control your calorie intake. Crunches don't reduce belly fat, despite all the media BS to the contrary.
Just saying this to make sure no misunderstanding

have you by any chance changed anything about your diet? or just possibly gotten sick which had more to do with exercising the first time rather than the specific exercise?

See your doctor. This site is a poor venue for medical advice.
