Hey guys, I have some news that kinda ticked me off. So far I have gained about 60lbs in about a year and a half. The first 40 coming much faster than the last 20. Anyway even though I made huge gains in short time I never got a single stretch mark. Now that my gains have slowed down I figured I was in the clear stretch mark wise cause I figured I will never grow as fast as I did when I put on my first 40 lbs. So anyway last week was my week off and somehow during my week off these stretchmarks appeared on my upper hamstrings and glutes. They are still red so I am guessing they are new. I deff dont want stretch marks, or at least I dont want them any worse than I already have them. I did a search on the board and found that some peoples stretch marks faded almost completly if they stopped lifting the muscle group around the stretch marks for a period of time. What do you guys think? Its legs day today and I wanna pound out some squats do you guys think it will make the stretch marks worse?

imo i wouldnt stop training them, the reason i have stretch marks on my arms and chest is that i used to be in the mentality a few years ago of really gettin into training then gettin bored and stopping pretty much completely then starting again etc. When the muscle grows then shrinks then grows like that in rapid succesion it screws up your skin. I WAS AN IDIOT.
If anything keep training but dont up the weight/reps for a month or so, give your skin a chance to catch up same as you do your joints. Anyway whatever you do dont stop training the muscle all together or you'll end up looking like i did 4 years ago. Luckily most of them have faded to skin color now tho, but there are still a coupla red ones. Havent got any new ones whilst stickin to solid trainin tho-The science of bodybuilding, nowhere else is the phrase "Knowledge is Power" more appropriate.

Stretch Marks
Hey You should be happy you have stretch marks
1. Who sees your glutes and legs every day
2 they are battle scars of hard work in the gym YOU EARNED THEM
3 They fade over time
4 Stretchmarks generally come once and then discontinue
I have been lifting for about a year now and I have put on just about 60 pounds I got enormous stretch marks on my armpits , I have stretch marks on my shoulders and some on my biceps, lats and inner thigh
I fealt the same way you did when I got them at first then I realised there are people who are killing to have stretchmarks. I realised that they were fading over months and that they only reappear in really really cold water(they turn purple) I said to my self I want stretchmarks on my shoulders and so I busted my ass off with a new routine, lots of eating and about two-three weeks later bam two little signs of improvement
Dont be hating you will grow to love your stretch marks
