What is the potential for brain damage in amateur boxing and sparring sessions?

Just working out in my boxing gym, we have sparring sessions and even though its not 12 rounds and not as hard hitting as pro boxing. Whats the potential for actually getting brain damage in sparring?

Getting knocked out and getting back up to fight is when you'll suffer the most brain damage.

if your just going light and not taking many hits you wont have to worry.

there is always a chance but the first thing to go is your motor skills, you start having a heavy tongue it depends if you get in many gym wars then yes you will have a high chance to suffer some minor brain trauma...but mainly it just affects your speech most of the time.

you will start talking sloppy and have a little bit of tongue twisting of the words.
