slicedbread is on a distinguished road. (+10)
..eat for your blood type?

Do people with different blood types need to follow different diets? I have been reading about this and would like to see what everyone thinks about this type of diet.

I don't believe this stuff is based on any hard scientific evidence. "People with o blood types must drink milk" etc (I just made that up by the way.)

I'd just eat healthily and forgot about that kinda stuff because IMO it doesn't have much relevance.

I read where Roman gladiators regularly drank the blood of their competitors; lions, bulls and humans. So what does that have to do with anything? About as much as your blood type has to do with what you should eat.

I think it's a load of rubbish personally. How some tiny antigens on the surface of your blood cells dictate what you need to eat is beyond me. Any scientific evidence anybody has who can post it?

hatman will become famous soon enough. (+50)
I have to chime in here because I disagree

with the general posting on this thread. I've been following this diet for about 4 years on and off. I'm been more dedicated to it in the past two years. Mainly on what foods are recommended for my blood type. I've read the majority of the book pertaining to my blood type and the research and I have to say its worked well for me. As far as hard scientific evidence goes... There, as far as I know, are only a handful of people involved. Most of it stems from a life time of research by the father and a continuation by his son who authored the books. I have noticed a difference, with what I eat and how it effects my body and my tendency to get sick.

IMO, I have to stress that, IMO I like what it has done for me and teamed up with what I've learned here on BB.com it makes for a much healthier life style.

As you can tell by my sig. I work some long days and I feel the diet, sleep and all around healthy lifestyle have contributed to being able to keep up with that. I've been working like that since Nov. 11 2003. Its crazy some times but staying on track with the diet and sleep schedule lets me keep up with things.

I've decided to try this diet out. It has interested me for a long time, and I've read up on the studies and although they are mostly inconclusive, I'm going to take the plunge and give it a fair shot. Its well known that different blood types are at risk for different disease, like Type A's are more prone to cancer and Type O's are more prone to get ulcers so there is precedent for variation among blood types. I'm type A positive and quite intrigued by this author.

I figure I'll try this diet for a few months, if nothing else it should help try some new foods since I'm ridiculously boxed myself into a little niche of "comfort foods." I'm borrowing the book from a friend, I've read it a little bit here and there, but I'm actually going to sit down, read the whole thing, follow the diet and I'll report the results, if any, that I get from it, whether good or bad.
