Coming back
Alright, I've been out of lifting for about 7 months and I'm just getting back into it. I could use some advice. Basically I want to get stronger, size means little to me as long as I can move weight. I was planning to take about two weeks and slowly start coming back, doing roughly 8 sets of 10 to 12 reps for each body part, twice a week. Then I was hoping I'd be able to start going to sets of 8 for the following two weeks and then start something like the Max-OT program, going heavy and switching to hitting bodyparts only once per week. My question is, do I need to take this first month light before I start going heavy or can I just jump into it without much fear of injury? If it is recommended that I take some time to get back into it, is a month long enough? I guess I'm worried about my tendon strength and stabilizer muscles more than anything. I lost serious muscle mass over the last 7 months and want to hit the gym hard as soon as possible, but I don't want to do anything to myself that will keep me out of the gym any longer and slow my gains.
Thanks,
Dan
