Optimum Amino 2222 Capsules...can someone help me out???

Ive been taken 2 of these capsuls one time a day basically after a workout. Will taking these hurt me in the long run like with my health? My aunt was taking this calcium supplement for about 2 months then she ended up getting a kidney stone. So will taking Optimum's Amino 2222 Capsules hurt me in the long run someone please help me out?

From what I remember, the formation of stones when using calcium supplements is higher than otherwise (look for a study conducted among nurses who were using them.. I don't have it on hand), due to a lack of oxalate at simultaneous intake of the calcium (Ca binding with oxalate precipitates it out, and helps prevent buildup in the kidneys I think). Chances are, she was experiencing a calcium buildup for the stone.

I don't have amino 2222's information with me. If there is calcium listed on it, then it may be of mild concern depending on your diet. As it is an amino acid pill though, I don't forsee any problem. Whether or not it is effective may be a different story though.

I highly doubt you'll have any health concerns from taking Amino Acids. They are essentially harmless. I've taken them for a year straight now and I'm perfectly fine.

I think the amino acid pills may have calcium caseinates but I would not worry about kidney stones unless one is taking a huge amount like 100 a day.
