Before I start, I just want to make sure that right before bed is the absolute best time to take my 3 daily capsules of ZMA as opposed to spreading out the dosage or anything like that. Also, I assume I should take the 3 capsules daily, not just on days I work out. Any suggestions?

i see more zma questions on here than anything else. when i was on elite fitness boards, they rip on zma all the time, saying its useless, (i agree, it did nothing for me), but on this board people seem to really be on the zma bandwagon.
Think about this: most if not all bodybuilders are severely deficient in both zinc and magnesium, making ZMA and excellent supplement to boost recuperation and improve the quality of sleep. ZMA is one of only 4 supplements I would recommend to just about anyone to use at any time.

antonio, your comments are well taken. the logic behind it makes sense. but how do u know if ur deficient in zinc and mag?, have u had blood work done?,, i took it for 3 months , and i didnt see a different at all, i didnt even sleep any diffent. im an athletic trainer for a div1 school,. i have never heard of an athlete here being diffiencient in z or m. and some of my athletes are world class caliber. i just think its another way for supplement companies to make an extra dollar. next you will hear of X deficieny in athletes, and all the companies will make X pills. and the literature will be logical.,, just my 2 cents.

Ps: I have never taken a blood test for that but it's common place that most bodybuilders are deficient in it.

I take it an hour before bed and 30 minutes before Muscle Milk.
You don't want to take the ZMA and protein together before bed, unless you get a thrill out of waking up early leaving your woman and replacing her with resting on the toilet seat for a length of time.Keymaster of platinum accounts

just to clear a few thing up, people seem to not realize that zinc and magnesium get their effects negated by calcium present in the stomach, it doesn't matter weather you have food in your stomach as such, as long as you have no calcium containing products in your previous meal.
but its also ironic how many of the multivitamins that you can buy over the counter contain thousands of properties, including zinc, mag, and calcuim along with a bunch of other stuff. so whats the point in spending time adding another mineral if its just going to block the effects of more very useful properties. just shows they dont do their research huh.
so if you guys want to have your shakes before bed then take them obviously at different times and plan accordantly. i recommend having your zma, digest that... then your shake after, due to the obvious reason that if you where sensible you would have a slow absorbing casein and this would interfere with the role in play of the zma.
