BB's Motivation thread

My Confession: Ive been a career MISCer my entire stay here at bb.com but, I really need to quit the MISC. Hardly anyone there lifts and its nonsence. Trolls and Rep whores dictate that section. I've come to the realization that reps dont mean nothing. Im sick of being a weakling and after all this is a Bodybuilding forum so I might as well use its VAST knowledge.

I used to lift in high school. My freshman and sophmore year I had weight Training, so It was easy to work out since I had the class, but after those years past I havent been as successfull. My entire problem is that I really have motivation problems. I bought a 3 month membership to the local REC center back in september. I used it for a week and never went back. It will never happen but I want a physique like ARNOLD back in the day. I am a skinny weakling and I want that to change.

My starting stats:

5'9 130lbs.

I have arranged to work out with a friend at the local 24 hour fitness this coming saturday, so its a start. I already have a 5 lb tub of ON Whey Chocolate flavor and probably tommorrow I will go to Vitamin Shoppe and buy some Muscle Milk. The Multi I take is some centrum knock off by walmart and I take Fish Oil. My diet REALLY SUCKS. I eat pretty much anything in site, I dont eat healthy at all and I realise thats gotta change.

This Journal is exactly what I need to stay motivated and make a progression to what I want to be. I want to be in shape and healthy and I will be one day.

Im going to be working out saturday, and Ill try and Hit everything. Upper, Lower, and some cardio.

What im going to try and do is get on Ripptoes and get a gym membership to the rec center.

I just got back from the gym, Damn Im lazy but I got the job done. I hit my Tri's pretty hard today, I focused on Tri's and shoulders. I also did some back and Bench as well. I am aiming to workout maybe once or twice a week.

Thanks for the suggestion, I NEED to get on a program. I NEED structure in my workouts. Today in the gym, I basically wondered around like a lost sheep trying to figure out what to do next and hopping from machine to machine. I will research some workout programs. I am kind of dissapointed in myself for doing mostly arms and back.

I do. I take both daily. It works out great becuase my dad takes fish oil for his cholesteral so, I dont ever have to worry about buying fish oil my mom buys it already

good job on the changes.. 5x5 is good enough to start out with. make sure you put your diet and be very strict. at 5'9" and 130 lbs, you need to eat (no condescending).

I may get a membership to the local Rec Center. But after buying all the Muscle Milk yesterday I need to wait till next paycheck. I have a friend who has 2 free passes to the local 24 hour fitness. We were supposed to use those today but something came up for him. I need structure in my workouts. I definately will research workout programs. My arms may be dead but I wondered around the gym like a lost sheep. I have a dumbell set under my bed, tommorrow I may hit my biceps hard using some dumbbells.

EDIT: I didnt hit my abs at all so tonight im going to also do some ab exercises.

I saw that post by Boyscout and I think that was the last straw completing my removal from the MISC. He was saying anyone who bumps, post, or feeds a troll will be temp banned. I realise they are trying to do everything they can to stop the troll problem and good for them. I cant complain about boyscout though were both Smallville Fans.

I just really cant stand the MISC anymore. They have some good threads every once in a while but trolls and rep whores like I said run that area. Its time to get serious about BBing.

Im glad to be free from that entrapment, although I do enjoy reading the R&P Section, some crazy ass people in there. Very funny to read.

I chugged my MM pre-bed shake and will be taking a Whey shake when I wake up. Ill work on getting some pics up but that may take some time. Hopefully Ill have a better diet tommorrow.

Im looked at Madcows site about the Intermediate 5x5 workout and im going to take it up. I like what I saw and the diversity of the workouts.

Day 1:
Squat
Bench
Barbell Row

Day 2:
Squat
Incline or Military
Deadlift

Day 3:
Squat
Bench
Barbell Row

I have 1 question? What exactly is a deadlift? I know it targets your lower body but what exactly is it?

Heres what my diet looked like today:

Meal 1:

Cereal
Toast
Whey Protein shake.
Multi, fish oil, etc..

Meal 2:

Meal 3:

Pizza Bread

Meal 5 (Which I JUST ate):

My pre-bed MM shake.

I will work out 3 days a week: Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday.

My workout was great yesterday, I did ATG Squats so today Im paying the price. My lower body is sore. I did some ab workouts as well. I tried hitting chest but I was just too damn sore from saturday's workout to do it. I WILL be hitting chest tommorrow. I also did barbell rows. Tommorrows workout here I come.

DAMN IT, I just realised I did the 5x5 workout wrong. I didnt realise you were supposed to use a percentage of your 5rm and up the weight during the sets. I did squats yesterday and used the same weight for 5 setts, but Im still sore as a motherfuka so I guess its alright.

I still have soooo much to learn.

I had to make myself workout today. I was at home chillin and I had arranged to workout with some friends. I didnt want to but I made myself. Wasnt the best of workouts but a workout nonetheless.

No kidding its one day at a time. Im really having to fight myself today to go to the gym. I guess the initial excitement has worn off. My body is telling me YES get in the gym and my mind is saying " WTF get back to bed, you can still sleep for another hour."

As soon as I eat breakfast im heading to the gym. Motivation really sucks.
