IMO, the 2 most perfectly developed men in bodybuilding history. That's including size, conditioning, aesthetics, symmetry & muscle definition.
So, if you were on the judging panel and had to place Levrone & Wheeler 1st & 2nd place who would you choose?

Idn what you or anyone else that keeps saying this is smoking but flex had a piece of **** back. His delts were very small and he ended up having to use oil (which killed all of his rear double biceps). He had ZERO back width at all, zero - during abs and thy poses he had to do them from the side because his lats and his wline were literally the same. His thickness was good but even then no where near the size of yates, coleman or even kevin levrone.
Kevin had a great back, and great legs and great everything - but he never pulled it all together at the same time due to injury.
Flex wheeler was a liar, used synthol everywhere, had calf implants ,and was narrow as hell.

Flex Wheeler as of now I would consider better. 1993 Arnold classic Flex was prolly in the top 3 best physiques ever to be on stage if not the best. He also looked pretty good in 1998 and 1999 but lets not go there.
Levrone has/had the potential to be better then Flex imo. Flexes major weakness was slightly narrow clavicles which is why he later used synthol. On the other hand Levrone despite sloped clavicles developed an unbelievable shoudler region especially in 02. Levrones issue was early in his career his back was alittle behind, later in his career his legs were alittle behind due to injury. If not for his injury I have no doubt he would have beaten Ronnie hands down and who knows may have kept going all the way through today.
Not sure why Levrone only trained half a year. One could speculate that training for shorter durations and putting weight on faster may have contributed towards his injury as connective tissue does not grow as fast as muscle and when adding alot of muscle at once can make you vulnerable to injury. I also personally believe back developement seems to depend alot on consitency year round unlike some areas like bis and chest which seem to "beef up" faster in those with the genetics.
I think if Levrone had no injuries, and commited 2 solid years straight to training hed bring the best physique of anyone in history including Flex. I am excited for his return but a big part of me thinks it will be semi half assed, he will prolly place 3rd or 4th and then called it a day again, I hope he proves me wrong though.

DJinn and Guardian say Flex in 1993 possibly the best looking physique ever.
I agree, whenever I think of the best physique ever I think of 93 Flex, but check out Flex on 96 Arnold classic. A bit bigger, similar conditioning and definition.
Levrone had a good back. Flex although having a narrow back, compensated for it with back definition regarded as the best in bbing history. That's why he's there whenever best back discussion comes along.
Levrone's back
Tough choice between these two.
Similar in that they both give a sense of unfulfilled destiny for sure. No matter they never won the o, they are still in the very top of all time.Last edited by verbatim9; 07-12-2007 at 03:29 PM.

Love
It can move one's heart to see a young couple romantically enthralled with each other. But the heart becomes deeply sad just a few months later - to see their paralyzing dependence on one another.

Kevin, had it all, great legs, back, upper body..... Problem is, he never had em all at the same time, due to the nature of his injuries made him undertrain certain parts. My fave Kevin Levrone was when He Debut at the Olympia in 92, where he faced Dorian for first, he was effing awesome. I voted for Levrone, although Flex in 93 was amazing, but IMHO, Levrone could've been better, if only he was more consistent w/ his training.

Flex had the greatest potential out of any bodybuilder, but his potential was never realised.
Even Dorian Yates himself once said this. If Flex only had the right focus and application, he would have been number one.▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬ஜ۩۞۩ஜ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

flex looked great, but without synthol/escilene, he didn't have the thickness to hang with the big boys.
take a good look at that rear lat spread. Flex looks like an amateur in that picture. His side chest is not something many people will remember either, and without the oil, his most muscular won't blow anyone away either
that being said, flex's back detail and arms are some of the best in history, but I don't think he has the thickness or width to really go head-to-head with levrone.
