I give Optimum Nutrition's Whey Protein a 6 out of 10. It tastes alright. It doesn't mix very well though. But its definitely worth the price.

Some people don't understand Optimum, but their 100% Whey, actually 77.5% is one of the higher end 5lb Tubs on the market.
The Carbs are lower, and the Protein % is higher then Prolabs 5lb, and the price is on the money.
The label is good too as far as info.
Plus they make Choc Mint, and Pina Colada too.

Yes, the chocolate mint has only been out for a month or two. It is only available right now in the 5 lb size. Of course, you can order it cheap at http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/opt/whey.html

I used optimum for quite a long time without much benefit. It mixes really easy compared to most, and tastes great...but I never got much for benfits in muscle growth.

I recently bought the 10 lb. bag of Opimum Whey for $48 at a supplement store. I think that's a damn good price as far as regular supplement stores go. At GNC a 5 lb. container of the stuff costs $45, which is still an ok (though not cheap, but then again everything at GNC is way overpriced) price. Where ever I go, Opitmum Nurtition 100% Whey always seems to be the best deal for your money.

Ok, let me spell it out for you now.
A. you claim you can't absorb more thabn 30 grams of protein per 2 hours
B. you say that you need 1 to 1.5 grams of whey protein per pound (and whey is only 30% of my total protein intake)
C. I weigh 254 lbs
D.conclusion : I need a minimum of 254 grams of whey, preferebaly 381 grams.
E. Conclusion 2 : In 16 hours of being awake I can maximally absorb 240 grams of protein.
Hmmmmm ....

You forget not all of us are still beginners. I take 350-450 grams of protein (from any source, as long as i get it in) a day. A steroid user would need considerably more. Probably well over 500 grams.

8 AM, protein shake (40 grams whey/casein blend with 500 ml of milk) and 8-10 eggs, sometimes a little bread
10 AM , noodles or spaghetti, baked potatoes and whole wheat bread. Hot or cold depending in whether I'm home or not.
12 noon or thereabouts I eat 2 subs (ham, cheese, eggs and whatever else they have) and 3 chocolate sandwhiches, I don't know the name for these in english
3 PM junk, whatever I get my hands on at the time. Left-overs, burgers and fries, pizza if I can afford it and so on. My daily cheat meal
5-6 PM my dinner, whatever is brewing at home or whatever I can whip up if noone else is home. Usually 2-3 helpings of your standard full plates of meat and veggies, steak, chicken, whatever.
8-9 PM, postworkout meal consisting of 1 liter of milk, 150 grams of weight gain powder, 3 raw eggs and some skim milk powder.
11 PM 500 ml shake with 40 grams of whey/casein blend
Over an entire day I'll drink 6-7 liters of semi-skimmed milk.

I'm starting to catch up to your amount of eating CAT. Everything but the 8 eggs in the morning bit. Are you just using whites? I'm trying to catch up to your milk consumption too. I'm right around a gallon and a half a day. Thanks for all of your advice!!! Eating does help.

Bodybuilding.com is pretty good. So is my friend's site. He owns his own supplement store. http://aaronssuplements.hypermart.net
