How often should you change up your routine?

Just what the title says. Can you just change up between the same two routines every 2 weeks or will that not work? Thanks.

I'd say a big part of progress is knowing what's working for you. And how can you know in just two weeks? I'd give it longer, but that's me.
How does one destroy darkness? The answer dawned upon my mind, blinding in it's brilliance. To destroy darkness, one must simply expose it to the light.

Which I believe I've stopped seeing. How many times could you possibly change up a routine to last you for say, about a year? Could you just return to previous routines when you stop seeing results with a new one?

Well I've had a same routine for about 3 months and I've stopped seeing any more change. That's why I ask when it's good to change up. Thanks for the responses so far.

It's up to you really, if your not happy with th results I would change.

I usually change mine every 4-8 weeks and make sure its completly different. Different order of bodyparts, different exercises and in different orders.

Just to make sure you shock your body so that it can respond and grow.

As a general rule of thumb: 6-8 weeks on average. Some people can go longer, others adapt faster. YMMV.

Using undulating (non-linear) periodization can help stretch out the effectiveness of your workout programs a bit.
