Derek - Do you have problems with the size of your quads?

I really respect and am amazed by your leg development. I was wondering if you experience any incoveniences with them being that big? The reason why I ask is because I have a good friend who doesn't lift weights, but has always had very big legs and calves. His genetic makeup has him carrying around a lot natural muscle in those areas that it actually makes me jealous. He says he hates it because he has a hard time finding jeans and pants that fit and it makes him look unbalanced with the rest of his body. He's the same weight and height as you, but with 25-1/2" quads and 17" calves. I think your stats page says yours are as big as 26" or 26-1/2". Mine are 24" now, but I'm only 5'4. My goal is to get them up to 26". Do you experience the same problems?

All my pants rip after a while (wear and tear from my thighs rubbing together). It's hard to find pants that fit my legs but also fit my waste. My butt is also huge, so that doesn't help. Lee Dungeree (or however you spell it) carpenter style are the best I've found.

My quads are 26.5 right now and I've been training them with low volume since my contest. I am training them pretty hard right now, so I wouldn't be surprised if they got up to 27.

I know that if I have a hard time finding pants, I can't imagine Ronnie Coleman or Jay Cutler finding any jeans that fit whose quads are like 30+.

what point on your leg do you measure at? At the top where they are their thickest or more towards the middle of the thigh?

DAAANG! You need to get some pics up of those monsters! I thought you said you were going to lay low on the leg training this time around?

What is the one exercise you think puts the most mass on your quads?

I was laying low on them for a while

Squats are the best overall quad exercise. If my legs were a problem area for me, I would do something like:
    Monday
    Squats 2 X 2-3
    Squats 4 X 6-8; 8-12
    Squats 1 X 20

    Thursday
    Front Squats 2 X 5
    Leg Press 3 X 8-10
    Leg Extension 1 X 12-15; 1 X 20

Well, I found out today that my friend wasn't taking good measurements since he's not a bodybuilder. His quads are actually 28" and calves 17-1/2"!
