How come All black ppl live in bad neighborhoods

(serious) i am not racist and i know alot of black people that live around my neighborhood but i never understood why the vast majority in the ****ty areas are black? i mean they can get the same jobs etc as whites or whoever. this 1 black guy was talking 2 me about it and he said its cause they were orpessed as slaves for so long. come on...since some of your ancvestors may have been slaves means that you cant get the same jobs as anyone elese etc.? like i said im not racist and i know that they can do as well as anyone but seems like most of them just wont choose 2

Culture, if your brought up there u stay there, many have few aspirations to do anything greater. It is viewed as "uncool" if you do succeed in life in the black neighborhood. Also, education is poor and no real motivation to improve. (no racist)

Are you aware I had a person in human resources tell me after this thing played out that 'some people' were afraid of me around the studio. I asked her why, because I'm a 6-foot-1, black man with dark skin and who doesn't go around saying 'Yessah, massa sir' and 'No sir, massa' to everyone? It's nuts when your presence alone can just scare people, and that made me a prime candidate to take the heat in a dysfunctional family.

I'm black and live in a really nice neighborhood. Whoops there went that theory.

For the ones that do its probably because they didnt have alot of good role models too guide them in the right direction for college good jobs etc..

It wasnt until 35-40 years ago that blacks were even able to get a fair chance and a decent job. Generations of broken family structures and forced poverty cause bad problems that dont just go away just because a new law made making everyone "equal" is put into effect.

Depends on the area.

The lines between race and class are blurred in our society to be honest.

Education has alot to do with it I think. Their schools are so crappy it leaves them with very little hope inside of actually succeeding, and also I think they look too much at other avenues to succeed such as athletics, music, etc. Too help, their public schools need to be completely revamped to at least let them believe they will be given a quality education. same argument can be made for aboriginals in canada. They are a conquered people but expect the rest of the country to pay them restitution forever. I dont have the answers.

Personally, I think that it has everything to do with the socio-cultural contexts. It is unfair to say that "black people cannot succeed because their ancestors were slaves". It is equally unfair (and stupid) to assert that black people have the same opportunities white people have. I think it is a combination of a number of different issues.

its not that black people "live in" bad neighborhoods....its the fact that neighbor hoods where poor blacks are dominant "tend to be" bad neighborhoods. take a bunch of poor blacks, move them to a new location, that location will eventually become a "bad neighborhood". im not racist at all, its just statistical facts
