    Eating Bacon

Oveer thae last several years I have really cleaned up the type of food that I eat. So I havent eaten any bacon in a long time. Before I stated this "healthy kick" as my wife calls it, I could eat a whole pack of bacon i one sitting. Last night I decided to cook breakfast food for dinner, this incuded bacon. I could not stand the smell of it, the thought of eating it just turned my stomach.

My point is that it is amazing how you can effect the way you look at foods by just denying the urge to eat them for long enough.

    Hmmm, bacon.

Last time we had bacon, I over-indulged and was sick for the next 2 days; how the hell did I ever eat so much of it?

A few slices are fine, but I just can't eat it like I used to.

Yep, once you become un-used to eating the junk it's easy to realize how sickening it is

I am currently striving to stop eating bacon. Send some of that anti-bacon energy my way

    Talking

I haven't had a hard time with bacon or too many other foods I've decided to stop eating. I still like bacon and for a long while I made up a package Sunday morning for the 2 kids and wife. As I ate less they ate more until only a few weeks ago I demanded my wife stop buying it. The numbers for a half dozen pieces is horrifying and that's what the kids had been eating. I have found some dicipline is required but without support from a spouse it can become extremely frustrating for sure.

I fear I may become a lonely old man in the future but a healthy one at that.

I guess some of it is about moderation. I despise the taste and texture of fatty foods. So when I eat bacon, I usually micro zap it and use paper towels to absorb the fat.

If I have bacon every 1 - 2 months that'd be a lot for me. Still like it though

Mmmm, bacon! I guess it depends on what you consider "healthy". I eat bacon every day. Along with whole eggs, sausage etc. etc. Keto of course. Know what else? The ONLY way I can stay lean is upping the fat...the only way I can keep my BP, cholesterol and all that other stuff under control is, yep, you guessed it, eating MORE fat.

To each his own I guess.....one man's junk food is another man's "health food".

The last time I ate a piece of bacon it was sooooo salty that I was chugging water like a lunatic. Then I felt awful and bloated for ages.

But DAMN, that bacon was good

I knew 28 years ago when I was Jack Daniels soaked, powdered nose and sound asleep wrapped around my water pipe that bacon was bad for ya. Always ga ga ga gagged me with one exception... I was once served a BLT , ate it out of politeness and liked it.

    Mmmmm -- I love a BLT!

I don't think it's on the top of the healthy foods list, but I occasionally have turkey bacon or Canadian bacon.
