    L-Glutamine? Why?

It says that l-glutamine prevents muscle deterioration. Why would my muscles deteriorate if I lift every single day? If you have took L-glutamine before, please share experiences.

well your muscles break down every time you lift weights, but i wouldnt say they deteriorate... i dont suggest you lift every day, most people only do 5 days a week at the most, a few do 6... you need rest because you dont get stronger in the weight room you get stronger in your sleep when your muscles rebuild. REST IS CRUCIAL.

with the L-glutamine it is supposed to help you rebuild faster. that would be inherantly good, because what we do is break down and rebuild. i noticed that i had alot less muscular soreness the day after when i took it after i worked out and before i went to bed.

a lot of ppl say the bioavailability of powder L-glutamine is non existant making it a worthless product, it is an essential thing in your body(naturally produced also) but the supplements get broken down before they are used

oral glutamine supplementation is worthless. countless articles show it to be true. unless you're really sick or a burn victim, ditch it

i know they say oral gluatmine is useless, but I have experimented on myself, and i am more sore weeks when i don't take it than when i do, i guess everyone is different. But that was my only diet change (purposely) so i like it.

"Research shows that after intensely working out, glutamine levels in the body are reduced by as much as 50%. Since the body relies on glutamine as cellular fuel for the immune system, scientific studies have shown that glutamine supplementation can minimize the breakdown of muscle tissue and improve protein metabolism. Its effects on replenishing the body after stress or trauma have been shown in Europe where it is commonly given to patients in hospitals. Glutamine's cell-volumizing effects have also been shown in several studies. No conclusive studies have been done to evaluate the effects of L-glutamine supplementation on weight-training adults; however, a recent study showed up to a 400% increase in growth-hormone levels when as little as 2 grams of free-form L-glutamine supplement was consumed!"
