    Best books about nutrition

Can you guys help me out in finding the best books out there about nutrition. I am not only looking at it from a bodybuilding perspective, but just a book about overall healthy eating and info about what your body needs. I know very little, or rather nothing about it, though I think I eat very heatlhy. I would like to learn a lot more about it though and want to get a few books, but I am not sure which, as there is so many out there and I have no idea which ones are the good ones.
Some advice from the veterans here, or anyone who knows a lot about nutriton, would be very appreciated. I just need a few titles to start with, so that I don't start heading in the wrong direction right off the bat. Thanks to anyone who helps in advance.

Also, The Abs Diet gives a pretty goof discription of the foods one should be eating.

It's ok, the authoer is john Ivy and Robert Portman, also, Berardi has some articles in it that they decided to publish. It has a very high slant toward only high glycemic carbohydrates pwo, but other than the slant, it's pretty good information, but shouldn't be anything you don't know already without this forum I'd say.

Thing is, I know absolutely nothing about nutrition and coming into this forum, I feel completely lost. I want to read a good book to get a nice background and then be able to come back here and actually understand what you mofos are talking about

I completely feel you man, probably a bit overwhelming. If you ever have any specific questsions, I don't claim to be smartest guy ever, but you can PM me about anything and I'll do my best to explain, if not me, their is a plethora of wise individuals in this forum. Another good book, that is relatively easy to find, and breaks down nutrition well is called Optimum Sports Nutrition, by Michael Colgan, he writes it more based on the Endurance Athlete, but the book does a very good job covering the nuts and bolts of nutrition. Also, the book Burn the Fat, Feed the Muscle, Clipse mentioned is very good. There is another book published by Human Kinetics that I've heard is very good called Power Eating, but it's supposedly not for the carbohydrate timid I have yet to read it though, just heard lots of good stuff. Good luck man.

Burn the fat, feed the muscle is a good, basic, no bull**** book. The only thing which Venuto is wrong about is the fasted cardio stuff, but everything else is pretty much spot on.

I have thought about getting the burn the fat feed the muscle e-book but my computer is too slow and takes for ever to download. I do like his newsletters though.
"To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you lived. This is to have succeeded.” -- Ralph Waldo Emerson
