No we didn't. We expressed disbelief at the fact he was released after multiple stints in jail and on top of it all raped another girl. If he was a white American citizen I'd feel the same way. In this case, he's also an illegal immigrant and after the first offense he should have been detained.

No, I am saying the current laws on the books are *wrong*. If you break a law that is wrong in the first place, you do not give up your rights.
For example, Jews did not give up their rights in Nazi Germany because they wanted to own businesses but the government disallowed them to. The government was wrong, not them.
As far as "illegal" immigration--the government is currently violating the rights of employers (American citizens) who wish to engage in hiring the immigrants, with landlords who want to rent to them, and any one else engaging in an act of trade with them.

"Juan Villa, 24, has been in the Maury County Jail 11 times since 2001 on charges of assault, public intoxication, driving without a license and contempt of court."
11 times in jail?? If he is illegal, then thats quite a ****ed up system that allows an illegal to go to jail 11 times and not get deported.

Nice system we got going here, if an illegal breaks the law why the hell is he put in jail instead of just being deported?
He raped a 15 year old girl, yes that is tragic but many LEGAL people rape. I think you guys are getting caught up on the fact that he's illegal and are not looking at the real problem which is our system. It has clearly failed here and a 15yr old girl had to pay for it."Modern man is conditioned to expect instant gratification but any success or triumph realized quickly, with only marginal effort is necessarily shallow. Meaningful achievement takes time, hard work, persistence, patience, proper intent and constant self-awareness. The path to such success is punctuated by failure, consolidation and renewed effort. Personal reconstruction is art." - MFT

You would be correct, if not for the entitlement system in which hundreds of billions of dollars a year are culled from the sucker taxpayer and then used as a defacto subsidy to allow companies to leverage lower wages. Offer $5 an hour to build decks or $3 an hour to labor on a farm, and crossing the Rio Grande isn't worth it.
But throw in government benefits (which illegals receive already, and, under Bush's proposed shamnesty deal, their access would be expanded to the tune of an estimated $1 trillion price tag) and that changes things. Factor in America's free healthcare (you may not know about it - if you are dirt poor, citizen or not, you can head over to any emergency room and they are forced by law to treat you even for non-emergencies - sometimes the federal government compensates the hospital with Medicaid funds, and sometimes the emergency room, or hospital itself, must close down because of bankruptcy) and the pot is sweetened further.
But anyway, this thread is not about the pros and cons of unchecked illegal immigration (or amnesty end-runs to ameliorate the 'illegal' part - wow strong solution). It is about a man who happens to be an illegal alien, was arrested 11 times and never handed over to ICE, who was released from jail and then, within hours, celebrated his freedom in the land of opportunity (which he broke into) by raping a 13 and 15 year old girl.

Any type of corporate welfare is wrong and you should be working to eliminate it. At the same time you should be working to legalize the immigrants.
