I love my road bike. I manage to get out about twice a week- not as much as I would like but am able to get about 20+ miles of riding in each time. So glad the weather is nicer!!! We had sub-zero temps til like march!

Avid mtber turned roadie checking in. Thinking about getting some lycra trousers (tights?) for the cold and wet winter rides but I can't bring myself to do it. Just been riding in my mtb shorts for like 5 months now. Should I take the plunge?

Here's my ride. Got it toward the end of the season last year. Did a few xc races with it and one enduro. Hoping to do a bunch more enduro races in the summer.

Man I just now noticed this thread...how stupid..any opinions on these 2 bikes? I will be doing a mixture of off-road/road riding. Probably like a 60/40 ratio.

    Specialized Rockhopper sport 29 - $800
    Trek Marlin 7 - $699

Any reason to pay the extra 100?

Not sure if i've posted in this thread before. Have an 08 specialized hardrock comp though.

Can't wait for warmer temps to get it tuned up and riding again. Also purchased a ninja 250 so I'll have a motorized machine too Can't wait to ride both...it's been too long.

To the above poster: If those are prices of new bikes...I'd go for used. I picked up my beginner specialized for 275. It retailed at around $800.

Bikes, just like exercise equipment and pool tables, are sold cheap as hell on craigslist. People will buy them for outrageous prices, ride them twice, and sell them for half off.

Yeah road biking is a truly amazing feel. The speed and power, much better than sitting on a motorcycle for example, you feel that your body produces it which creates a completely different experience.
