That says that it only fits silent hubs so it must just be like a rebuild kit and not the whole hub. When I googled nexsave yesterday I got a discussion on www.mtbr.com that said that the LX version of this hub was discontionued so that could be why just the rebuild kit was listed. They didn't say what replaced it.
I couldn't find any on ebay, performance bike or colorado cyclist so they must be pretty uncommon.
Since Harris Cyclery knows about them, I would just call them and get the scoop from someone in the know.
If you do find a hub, make sure you get the same spoke count that you have on your rear wheel now so that you can reuse your rim. Shops usually charge around $25 for a wheel build and .50 per spoke. If you find the hub for under $50, you should be done for under $100.
One final note in this Colon. My knobbies are as loud as my hubs. I would go out a couple of times paying close attention to the sounds of my tires and hubs just to make sure that I'm not dropping a C-note on something that only helps slightly.

Stealth hub
This is another version of a silent hub. I have a friend of mine that has these on his BMX bike and they are very nice. Like the website says there is no slack, the engagement is instant and the hub is totally silent. They are not cheap however. Here is a link.

I was always told that the LX hubs were garbage. If you can try to spring for the XT hubs. If you ride everyday and you're into total performance go for Shimano XT or XTR parts. Also Spram has some kick ass aftermarket parts.

I like Pearl Izumi stuff, you can buy it direct or at any major place..
did 76 this morning.. crap im tired and I didnt even make my goal. I read route descriptions and it was supposed to be around 72 miles, well its mostly a climb and the total route was 108 so I turned at 40 miles and shaved a few coming home for 76..When you're down by the sea and an eel bites your knee, thats a moray.

I've always worn bike shorts...they improve the experience, reduce discomfort, and have a truly valuable function.
But I go against the grain with jerseys. I think they're silly and I hate farmers tans. Good ol' cut off t-shirts are the best "jerseys" I'll ever wear.
I have a personal guide for what I wear for a top cover, depending on the temperature:
90's+.....No shirt
80's+.....Cutoff t-shirt
70's+.....T-shirt
60's+.....Long sleeve t-shirt
50's+.....T-shirt plus flannel or fleece
40's+.....T-shirt plus gore-tex
30's+.....Long sleeve t-shirt plus flannel plus gore-tex
20's and below...You gotta be kiddingTime To Re-Schedule

Wuss! That's because it never gets that cold in SoFl.
I agree totally with you on the attire. Once you've worn the biker shorts you'll never go back.... But as you say, the jerseys are another thing. Should I ever enter a cycling event, I'll wear the full uniform, but for my personal taste, I'd leave the jersey out. Personally, I think they're best suited for smaller guys (under 170 lbs). As for me, I find the "cut" annoying. As for your replacements, T-shirts? Only if they're made from technical fabric? The one's with cotton don't breath, and just hold too much moisture. I'm alpha enough to go shirtless, but I wouldn't want to cause an accident . Instead, I wear a variety micro fabric tanksLast edited by KRANE; 08-13-2007 at 01:50 AM.

I wear both pretty much, the rear pockets are nice if your in a group ride and trying to get at your saddle bag while riding for food is a pain. The tops do look goofy on me as I actually have muscles, but they are convenient. Tank tops work well to.. Im not that fast but occasionally ill pass guys in $150 jerseys while wearing a cut up old grateful dead concert shirt and that does give me great pleasure..When you're down by the sea and an eel bites your knee, thats a moray.

Performance always has killer deals, especially on last year models.Make sure if you buy from Bike Nashbar you check out mtbr.com for any promo codes. They always have free shipping codes and often a great $25 off purchase of $50 or more.
For other bike stuff I buy from speedgoat.com
And for bike shorts and jerseys you can get lucky on steepandcheap.com too.

I've ridden in group rides and I've ridden alone (mostly). I think I far prefer to ride alone. I've had some good group rides, but for the most part they turned into hammer-fests. When I go out I like being able to stop or slow down to enjoy the scenery, cliched as that sounds.
