Hopefully Derek gets some of our training pics up. Training with Layne and Derek made for the best workouts of my life--aside from the SIC Training chest workout I did with J-Rod.

While others were partying at 1am in Vegas, us three losers were at Gold's Gym pulling 7 plates per side on rack lockouts!

It was great meeting Layne & Beast in person for the first time. Both guys are down to earth and hard core bodybuilders. Eric from Legal Gear is a nice down to earth person too. And Rodney, although he has made an arse out of himself time in and time out here is about the funniest person you will ever meet - LOOKS EXCLUDED!

Joey, it was good getting to meet you too. And yea protein bars are crap, but those promax bars were pretty low in gelatin and it was better than no protein at all

are you serious? I was at that show up close... jay got a gift in 2nd place. His hammies, glutes and lower back were soft.

Ruhl also got a gift in 5th place... his backside from the waist down was soft as could be. I've seen natural guys get harder than that from the waist down. That being said, ruhl had one of the best most musculars in the contest

Layne, along those lines, this is more centered to yourself and Charlebois. Since you guys compete, did you learn anything from their poses or speaking to any BBers, that you were both unaware of beforehand? Were you able to have any interaction with some mainstream competitors?

You must have been smoking crack with Jay. Gunther was lucky to take 6th. He lost every challenge! He started with one point and ended with one point in the challenge round. It was close between Ronnie and Jay, but you not only have to beat the champ to take the title, you really have to overtake the champ and Jay didnt do that. Jay's back def got bigger than last year, but Ronnie's "rear game over lights out lat spread" took the title!

no not really, most of the competitors were busy at the expo and on the same token i was way too busy to talk to anyone for any length of time. That being said, it's hard to learn much from watching someone with that much muscle mass pose. When you poses that much mass, you can get away with erroring in poses without many people noticing. That being said I did notice a few things that some competitors did not do which reminded me of things NOT to do.

I learned I need to learn how to do the moon walk. Adds flavor to any posing routine.

I agree with some. I don't think Jay should have gotten second. Dexter should have won. I don't care if ronnie has a lot more mass. dexter is so must more symmetrical, shredded, and aesthetic than the other guys. His abdominals are the best ever in the industry.

Also, you guys gotta go to these expos --- I had to cancel as I was gonna go with the LG dudes. Quite honestly, some of the hottest chicks in the country attend.
