You're holding a big kite and you're surfing. I just got one not too long ago, and I wanted to try it out soon!

Oh ****! lol, I didn't realize that was you. How long have you been kite boarding for? My board looks just like yours, except its yellow and red. I think my kite's a 4 string.

since about the start of the year, havent really been out since easter though, its gotten cold and not much wind, ive only been out once or twice actually. There has been some good wind lately though but not the right direction for my fav spots.
once you get comfortable spins are easy if you know someone who can teach you.
but a 4 string is an awesome kite so it wont take long to get comfortable, i have a 11m waroo(best) which so light to control, fast and manuverable and when you jump you just hand, really really good kite. a lil bit small though for days anything less than 20knots.....which is were a land board comes in, lots of fun, handles a lot differently though, ive only borrowed one, i need to buy one because they are awesome. not sure whats next though, either a bigger kite(13 or 15m waroo) or a land board.
Just make sure someone teachs you how to fly, you dont need a lesson if you know people, but someone needs to teach you otherwise at the very least you'll damage your kite if not kill yourself, plus you'll just get in the way and piss everyone else off.
its definatly an awesome sport though and im sure you'll love it, although if you arent to co ordinated it can be a bit frustrating just starting off.

oh yeah!!!! cabhrina has a reputation of being weak! and mine was! the new models are pretty good though. Anyways my first kite was second hand, and good kite (4line cabhrina) but i had alot of problems with leaks. so expect to buy another kite pretty soon if your first is 2nd hand. but if your really **** or you can simply afford it and 2nd hander as your first kite is a good way to go.
also be careful with board leashes, if you use one and you lose the board off your feet and you feel the leash pulling......DUCK!!!!! most people wear helmets when they use them because they are so dangerous. the board will slingshot(for some reason usually towards your head!) if youve got the basic skills then that means you can body drag upwind so retreaving your board is easy anyway, i think leashes only have a purpose in surf(ive had a few close calls of losing my board in the waves) but the rest of the time they are just a danger, having to body drag to get your board is a pain but its good practice anyway.

Thanks bro
Yeah my kite came with a video called zero to hero or something like that. I watched it a bunch of times and they make everything sound so complicated. I don't really know where I'd be able to ride though. I don't think state beaches would allow it.
