    the general rule for protein intake per day is 1g per 1lb of weight, whats the rule for calories. thanks

    it depends on your goals. as a rule of thumb use 15 times bodyweight in lb's to get you maintenance calories. From there you can add and subtract to get bulking and cutting amounts. Obviously, this is just a rule of thumb and if you're sitting on your butt all day you're going to require less energy than somebody who has a physical job/physically active lifestyle. But 15 is a good starting point.

    there are the generic 15X for maintaining or 20X bodyweight for bulking. IMO those figures are a good base, but nothing more. 20X my bodyweight in cals will make me lose weight. find out by trial and error, everyone is unique!
