lol 200lb, you'd be a monster, it take more than 2 months.

If you train hard, eat well and eat lots. You could probably put on about 8lb of muscle with noob gains etc. maybe a little more, maybe a little less.

But you will not put on more without putting on fat.

I'm sure you know by now that it isn't possible but why would you aim to be 200 lbs in the first place? It's random as hell when people pick number goals because they look different on everyone...you should have a goal physique in mind, not goal numbers.

Are you people just ignorant or what? Newb gains is going to put 16 solid lbs of muscle on him in 2 months? Do you have any idea how much muscle that is? Read an article and stop posting without knowing a damn thing about what you're talking about.

Theoretically, all evidence would say it is NOT possible to put on 50lbs of lean muscle mass in two months. Your body does not WANT to add 50lbs of muscle mass at all, and tryig to force it to do so over two months, would be close to impossible.

I would say you could easily do it over a year, as long as you're progressively lifting heavy, and eating right, ALL YEAR round. By easily, I mean if you are 100% commited to the task, then the sky is your limit.

Better goal would be... to add 50 lbs to your bench in 2 months or squat (w/ proper form) 200lbs in 2 months

edit: yea my year goal is to reach 200lbs and I only have 15-20 pounds to gain!! That is still ambitious I know.

It's possible to gain 50 pounds of weight in 2 months, but it'd be one o the worst things you can do to your body. In order to gain that 50 pounds the amount sat. and trans fats you would have to consume would be rediculous, also you could never do any cardio because that would burn calories. So in the end, you would have a cholesterol crusted heart thats just as weak as it was 50 pounds ago trying to pump blood to all this new tissue, walking up a flight of stairs could be very troublesome

    This is not true.

To gain a pound of fat, you have to take in an extra 3500 calories for the day, or week, or month, or year ... I know that those last two are kind of out there (the month or year), but I'm sure you get the point. Now, it's hard, but not impossible, to gain close to a pound of fat (with maybe a small amount of muscle) each day. If your BMR is 2250, and you didn't exercise that day, that's what you'll burn. Now, if you eat 5750 calories that day, you'll gain a full pound that day. It's not impossible to eat that much day in and day out. I'm sure that some professional BodyBuilders might eat that much, but they are big guys, and the BMR of somebody like those guys must be through the roof!

Some of this stuff I said could be wrong, but I've always disagreed with this "ONE to TWO pounds for each week" thing ...

No, you are being way too negative. 50lbs in 4-5 years? I'm sorry, but if that's your philosophy, you are going to have awful results.

I have put on 15lbs of lean muscle mass since March this year. Do not tell me it is not possible, because results are what matters.

Morale of my post; if you work hard, you can achieve your goals, as long as they are realistic. 50lbs in 2 months is not realistic, but in a year using the right program and diet? Definitely.

You're right, 50 lbs of muscle in a year is very possible.

In fact, in 10 years, you can be over 500 lbs of solid muscle!

You're right, 50 lbs of muscle in a year is very possible.

In fact, in 10 years, you can be over 500 lbs of solid muscle!
50lbs of lean muscle has been accomplished. However, as the human body/CNS system adapts to heavy workload, it gets harder to put on lean muscle mass. The OP is obviously relatively new to training, so it is well within his reach if he has the right mindset and attitude.

I have went from 130lbs when I started in Febuary 2005 to 189lbs now with about a 2% increase in bodyfat. On top of this, I didn't even have a proper diet in the first year of training.

I am not claiming you can become a 500lb mass monster. Just look at what Dante has achieved with his training philosophy. have you been over to his website? Some of the tranformations he's made on people have been absolutely amazing.

You know, before you come with ignorant comments in future, try to access your logic and think about where you're coming off.

EXACTLY! Please do not say it is not possible to add a lb a week, otherwise your status as a moron is confirmed.

    LOL. An infomercial site...

You're calling me ignorant? I challenge you to quote this argument in one of the more informed sections...i.e. advanced teen bodybuilding, supplements, steroids, etc.

    You're a fool.

Of course it's possible to add a lb a week. BUT, a large majority will be glycogen, water weight, and fat. Obviously some might be muscle with a perfect diet and good training(as well as good genetics)

Definitely.
I agree with most of this. We're all teens here and for the first couple of years of training we're going to be able to put on more muscle than someone who is already an experienced lifter.

50 lbs I'd say is possible in a year (noob gains), but not all of it will be lean mass unless he has great genetics.

after noob gains with ridiculous genetics you're lucky if you get .25-.5 lbs of pure muscle in a week. Keeping that up for a year is very difficult. If even 30 lbs in a year of pure muscle was possible in a year after noob gains We'd all be at minimum 400 pure muscle , natural in 10 years.
