Starving diet?
I ate about 400 calories a day with 3 hours of cardio a day for 3 weeks and lost 25 pounds!! I lost no muscle at all because i still did as much in the weight room as 3 weeks before and it was not all water weight because i lost 4 pants sizes!! so to the people who say the starving diet dous not work well it dous and for the people who say ill gain the weight back well its been about 4 months and ive been losing since!!
Well to get to my question wye cant you just take a multi vitimin so you dont lose muscle on the starvation diet?

this is very bad advise, theres no dout you lost weight but giving away years worth of muscle in the process is not worth it. anybody can eat nothing and drop weight thats not the goal. the goal is to be BIG and lean. which isn't going to be done eating 400k ed and 3 hours of cardio.

do you plan on eating 400 cals the rest of you life cause thats what your gonna have to do to keep the weight off. When you eat like normal again the weights gonn hit you twice as hard trust me bro.... Not that I was proud but when I was 16-17 and did meth which was the worst thing and the weight just came back like crazy after I quit drugs.......
My 2 cents

yea you could have lost 20 pounds of water weight in a week... you are not going to keep it off, and you just killed your metabolism... do some research before you do something darastic like that... there are always ppl on the board that are more than willing to help.

Wow I am sorry buddy, but you are so misinformed and lacking of any kind of bodybuilding/cutting/dietary/physical knowledge that it is shocking and it is apparent in your post and the way you talk about and phrase the issues.
You think a multi-vitamin would prevent muscle loss, are you kidding me (ever heard of Glutamine )? Secondly do you realize how initially if you have a very calorically high crappy diet and are obese that your initially losses will mostly be waterweight.
I chose to take the Romac method which is controversial here and I will lower my calories below what many people on here think is "effective" and "safe" yet I have seen great results and I take the precautions while also measuring my body fat levels with two methods. I know not to push things too far and I also know how to do it safely but for you I worry about, you seem to be just about losing the most at any cost and it bro it ain't gonna work wonders much longer.
3 hours of cardio is horrendous, I cannot believe you do 3 hours of cardio. I do 40 minutes of HIIT cardio and I think that, that alone is more effective than your 3 hours of self-destructive cardio. How can you do 3 hours of cardio every day and still be able to walk? Do you think because you are lifting weights on a 400 kcal a day diet that you won't lose muscle and unless you test your body fat percentage how do you know, especially if you can't feel your muscle under a lot of that fat you may have?
How much have you lost since the 4 months? By my calculations you should have lost 100 pounds right? But I doubt you have, I bet the weightloss came to a screaching hault.
The Kcals are not my prime issue with this but your low kcals along with 3 hours of ridiculous cardio......

Yeah the thing that gets me is that his 400 kcal diet is probably.....
- Breakfeast 1 Donut
- Dinner 1 Donut
Two big nutrient rich meals! Yummy!
If you are going to cut your kcals that low keeping protein high is a must........well for those who in the know.
Probably going to end up a "skinny-fat".

I still cant believe that diet, Especially at that age when your body is still developing, from the lack of nutrition that can end up in some problems..

Listen guys, i TOTALLY agree with BigDubbDiesel. Im sure u all have heard me go on and on about how i starved myself and lost loads of weight, and kept it OFF for 2, yes 2, years. Actually 2 and a half years to be exact, and if i never took that stupid medication i wouldnt have gained it back. I LOOKED taller, and was stick thin. So yes i agree with BigDubbDiesel that starving urself and doing cardio can make u lose weight real easily. When i starved myself, i didnt even do cardio, seriously. I sat in my room all day moaning and complaining of how sick i felt, but it took one month, lost the weight, and i was healthy-thin-taller looking, and loved it. But i guess it depends on ur genetics, some people can, some cant.

I did a starvation diet for one year...1000 to 1500 kcals per day. I cut 100 lbs, but about 30 lbs of that was muscle. It would have been much more efficient to cycle through bulks and reasonable cuts.
Starvation is stupid...don't do it. Please.
I do have to give props to u tho...u must be dedicated to do 3 hrs of cardio with no nutritional support. Just take that entusiasim and put it into productive things rather than silly things like this.

soz mate but that was the stupidest thing iv eva herd, im not writing this to slate you i jus wanna help ya cos i used to do things like u but when i learned more i stopped it. when you dratically cut back calaries 2 things happen: you motabolism slows down ( u burn less fat) 2. your body converts muscle protein into glycogen to use it as energy, you say that you dont lose any muscle because your still lifting, this is also incorrect, when u lift heavy u put tears in your muscles as you probably will know, you body must heal this but if you are not eating enough protein or are burning it for energy instead of using it for repear then you body looks at its "stored" protein (a.k.a muscle and stuff from the liver) . so you are really losing muscle in order to repair your other muscles and also any cuts you may have had. when eating 400 calaries a day you are not getting any protein, the protein u eat will be burned for energy. your brain alone needs approx 600 cals a day to opetare effeciently so woth ur doin is dangerous, you will lose alot of fat and i agree you shouldnt put it straight back on but your body will put more fat on than useual wen u do start eating properly, u must remeber 1 point: ur bodys priority is to survive, not look good. hope this helps

No **** lol.
Who the hell wants to be stick thin. Last time I checked this is a bodybuilding forum. If your goal is to be some sickly model type, then sure, eat ony 400 cal, but it's probably time to find a different mesage board.
Being skinny isn't the point of dieting and excercising, it's being healthy. And eating super low cal is not healthy.

What a load of crap.
What the hell are you thinking? Gee, lets see, today I think I'll come to a bodybuilding forum and cut down muscular guys.
If you want to be sickly and thin and preppy, then go find a Cosmo or GQ board. Don't preach this **** here.

i can see where u get that from...but if uve read my past threads, my GOALS are to drop weight, and get down to 150...be thin. THEN, from there start workingout more and bulk up..i dont want to look like Lee Priest. I want to have the thin body, but i want the TONED look. I DO want to build muscle, but ive done that several times, but gain more fat than muscle. So im trying to get THIN first, then add on muscle, and be toned.

as if someone like you would be able to look like lee priest if you wanted :S
people offer you advice but you don't want to listen. If you want to be 'toned' then sort out your nutrition - you won't get the results you want by just starving yourself :/

I just want to say something on the topic of starving.
Sylvester Stallone at one point purposely starved himself and let his bad waste away to a malnourished skinny (albeit unhealthy) state. He did that so he could rebuild his body from scratch.
I'm NOT recommending doing it, even Sly himself says it's not good to do. But, it's just some fun pointless bb trivia. More info is on Sly's site.

actually...im the same height as Lee Priest...do u think these bodybuilders START OUT looking muscular?? Im sure Lee Priest and all those other bodybuilders were skinny, or fat when they first started...NOW look at them. ANYONE can look like those guys, they just got to put YEARS of dedication into it. If i put in 5 years of hardcore training and nutrition, ill look like Lee...but i dont want to look like him. I just want to look more like, say a receiver or defensive back in football, nice and toned.
Skelooth- good info on Sylvester Stallone. I KNOW starving urself is unhealthy, its just the easiest way to drop weight.

lol whatever, this coming from a person who uses the word 'toned' and thinks starvation is the key.
If you think starving is gonna get you looking ripped then holy **** man you got a big issue to tackle first. Education my friend :S

I have to back Max_D on this one, well said. Man, your looking for the toned effect, but you've failed in your past endevours, well....no wonder....you have never had correct nutrition. Your body is not a TOY! It's your F@#king life man. People give great advice here, some people should listen. cheers

u all are not getting anything straight! I want to go THIN...i want to have the THIN look...then from there...i start over....so what i do is simple, RIGHT NOW i DONT want to be TONED...so im gonna eat a lot less and become THIN....once im THIN, then i start eating proper nutrition and become a little more muscular and toned. As of NOW, my GOAL is to be THIN. i DONT want to be TONED NOW. I want to have a fresh start...just like skelooth said about Sylvester Stallone...i want to start fresh. If i try to become toned with the way i am NOW, ill look horrible and itll take a long time for me to go from waht i am now, which is HEFTY, to TONED...so id rather be THIN, then become TONED. oy vey

No, you're the one who's not getting it. Your method of losing weight is a piss poor method. If you want to do it your way, that's fine, but get the hell off a bodybuilding board. Nobody wants to hear what you have to say if your weight loss methods result in "I sat in my room all day moaning and complaining of how sick i felt" Starving yourself is a horrible idea, and the only thing you're doing by posting your bull**** is to possibly mislead people who come here and don't know any better. So I suggest actually taking the time to research how to lose weight through proper diet and exercise, or just shut the hell up.
