Normal Amount of weight loss overnight??

I'm 5'8 207lbs and im wondering how much weight a guy my size should lose over night. Because last night i weighed 207 before going to bed and i set a protein shake next to my bed stand. At 4am i woke up and drank it and then i took a long piss. I got up at 7 this morning and felt kind of thirsty. I went and weighed in and i was 203.5. three and a half pound over night. Doesn't seem normal.

If anyone knows anything about this. or has any article on bodybuilders and sleeping then i'd appreciate it.

Yes, water. A small amount of weight was your piss. Some weight also from sweating. But most water is likely expelled during normal respiration. Thats why you breath on your sunglasses before cleaning them off with your shirt...

Sounds pretty normal to me. I went from 149.2 to 145.6 between last night and this morning. I think 3.6 lbs might be a little more than usual in my case, but you've got about 60 lbs on me so I'm sure it's fine

On average, I'll wake up twice. I sweat like a gorilla. I have to change the sheets like 2-3 times a week because of it.
I take in 3-4 gallons plus food. Then piss it out, add the #2 that combo during the night. sweating like crazy AND I'll take a long piss and maybe #2 first thing before I weigh in that morning.

    That's a complete account. lol!

I'm skinny as sh*t, and even I manage to lose about 3 lbs of water weight over night. If you weigh 207, I don't think I'd worry about it.

Just as long as you don't lose 207 lbs. overnight, you'll be alright.

lol i still dont get why people do that shake in the middle of the night.. what good does taking whey in the middle of the night do, but digest in like 45 minutes to an hour and go to complete waste of a few scoops of whey..

keep ur whey shakes for PWO purposes when u need to replenish the AA's
taking it in the middle of the nigth wont help keep out of a catabolic state.. just stick to ur caesin protein before bed and dont worry about waking up

its better to be asleep and relaxing ur body then to worry about waking up and slamming a shake IMO

but then again back to the post topic.. when i left Erie Pennsylvania i was 140 and went to fort lauderdale florida.. i ate my normal meals at normal times and had my normal workout.. the next morning i was 137.. prob loss of water weight from sweating my ass off all night in florida compared to cold ass erie especially in the middle of december

You always weigh differently at various times of the day for a number of reasons such as water weight. To get an accurate gage of changes in your weight try to weigh youself at the same time every day or atleast approx.

i think the best time to weigh urself is right after u wake up and take that early morning piss, or right after u workout depending on how long / what day u workout.. dont weigh urself after every workout becasue some workouts are more stressful on ur body and will cause u to maybe lose more weight (legs and cardio especially)

i can wake up 6-10lbs lighter after a good night's rest and a dump in the morning before the gym

one of my friends told me our scale at the gym was wrong yesterday (it's digital) because he weighed himself at home and he was like 12lbs lighter (obviously he did it in the morning). i had to explain to him that water and food weigh something too and that you lose a lot of water overnight, especially if you had been drinking on said night
