10-19-2004, 07:46 AM #4sounds like poor positioning across your shoulders.....is the bar resting on the trap muscle rather than bone? A lot of people new to the squat find the correct position is a lot lower than where they thought.
Squats are painful when your thin, stupid little spinal bones are the back get in the way!
Fat people have the benefit of insolation so you can put the bar anywhere thats why I liked squats before
But ya, put it on the traps, it should be at the point of being balanced but if you lower it another inch it would probaly roll down your back :P

Yah, fat people got it going on with squats. Just kidding.
No, you're no pussy. If the bar on your upper back is your problem, then that is not so difficult to overcome. Sounds like you have the strnegth.
Don't be embarrassed to use the "puss-pad." As they say above, work on your traps and over time, you'll be able to wean yourself off the puss-pad.
If anyone bigger than you gives you sh** about it, tell them to just wait two years, and you'll kick all their asses

Why keep using this fat dude only doing 135 as an example, the pic barely shows useful positioning of the bar anyways.Just lift the weight, eat the food and sleep the sleep.
If you are doing these three things correctly and still not gaining, THEN complain.
Never underestimate the power of a few extra hours of sleep, I found that to be the culprit lagging me.
p.s. make sure you are eating and lifting correctly :D
bigcalves is still a douche, thankyou friendly people for undouchin what he douched up.
