    Exclamation how do i get a smaller waist?

    i want a small waist like the pros. im a 33 right now but i dont like the lil pudge i have around it. my sides are getting smaller so my abs are really close to coming out but is my waist going to get smaller with that or do i need to be doing something different?
    background. i do a lot of ab excersizes everyday and i include the obliques. i weigh 170. im 6 ft. so im not fat but i need the smaller waist and finish developing my abs and ill have what i think a perfect body and from their ill just keep building.

    Its good to have some bulk, if you want to get big you cant have the abs all year round 33 inch isnt that big especially if your 6 foot whats your bf%?.

    I don't think the pros neccesarily have a small waist. Their upper body is so big that it gives the illusion of a small waist.

    all you can do is lose fat, then thats the smallest waist youll ever get, genetically, if you have a wide pelvis, youll have a big waist even at low body fat. a 33" waist is ok, a 34" waist is ok even at low fat, anything above that is a big waist. im talking about navel measurement, not hip.

    yeah i dont have a whole lot of fat their, but i just wanted to reduce it. i guess ill just keep doing what im doing. and i never thought about the whole thing about how big the body builders are up top that makes the waist look small. so thanks for helping a lil.

    The key to great abs relies mostly on bodyfat (although you do need a certain amount of conditioning). You said your waist is a bit "pudgy", so this leads me to believe that you need to lose a little fat.

    Also training abs and obliques everyday probably won't do too much. Remember your abs are being worked whenever you are in the gym as well.

    An important note if you are trying to get a smaller waist is to not use weighted exercises for obliques as they may cause the obliques to grow resulting in a larger waist.
