    Angry Pmt and training!

I suffer badly at this time of the month, sometimes I can't train because it is so bad. Mentally I lose the plot for a week or more. I have lost 6 stone over the last few years, and still have 3 stone to shift. I have gone up and down by a stone for the last 2 years, never got lower than 13 stone.
It is ridiculas as I am now a qualified trainer, so there should be no excuses, I have a good knowledge and practice of training theory, I know a fair amount about nutrition, and am constantly striving to learn more as there is so much to learn. But despite all this I struggle to keep motivated all the time and I think I can put it down to hormones effecting my moods.
1 week of swollen boobs and feeling grumpy and depressed, foloowed by 1 week of heavy bleeding and agony! That leaves only 2 weeks to pick myself up and getting training again!!

I must say though, I have just started on evening primrose oil and zinc and magnesium, and a couple of other supplements so given a few weeks to kick in they may help.
Does anyone else here have the same problem? And what can help!!? xx

Sorry to hear that. I've never had it that bad. I've noticed I was pretty angry a couple of days ago (and now I'm "on"). Last month my strength dropped during my period but was back to normal the following week.

Considering you're much fitter but still have some menstrual issues is it worth speaking to your GP?

Talk with your doctor. I'm in the same boat as you. A week before I start I'm an AWFUL person to be around. Then the week of I'm in pain and worse to be around! My energy gets low and I'm always hungry. My doc just put me on some meds. Hope they work!!

    Good luck!

Have you ever tried birth control pills? I don't take them anymore, but when I did, they helped a lot.

I worry about weight gain with taking them, but I have never tried. Can't help to feel yucky about the chemical thing. Been freestyle( being careful!) for 7 years now and feel better, I used to have a depo injection which stopped my periods altogether, but I don't think it helped with my previous obesity problem. I think I will see how the evening primrose oil helps with next month, if still bad I will refer to a gp, may need a scan or something? Thanks to you all for the advice! xx
