I was wondering, what is considered "big" for a 5'6" average Joe?
I know about Priest, Columbu, Dexter Jackson, and the rest, but those guys are pros, genetic freaks on steroids.
I'm looking for a "big" that I could actually achieve someday.
You can post either measurements or poundages (bodyweight plus BF%).
One more thing, include if what you post is with or without steroids

"Big" is what ever you personally think is big. Everyone is going to have a different opinion of what they would call big.
So I would suggest having your own personal goal and concertrate on tying to achieve this and not worrying about what other people consider "big".
You need to do this for yourself not others.

When people start telling you your big
In 1945, Adolf Hilter died and went to Hell. Satan asked, "why are you in Hell?" He replied, "I am responsible for the massacre of millions" Satan said, "well done, sit to the right of my throne." In 1953, Joseph Stalin died and went to Hell. Satan asked, "why are you in Hell?" He replied "I killed millions to stay in power" Satan said "good, sit to my left" 2010, Ronnie James Dio died and went to Hell, Satan asked, "why are you in Hell?" Dio replied, "Bitch, get the fuk off my throne!"

well
arnold was 240lbs @ 6'2 with about 6-8% bf? when pumping iron was filmed and he was huge, regardless of the comparison to modern pro's
so, if your 8 inches smaller and 40lbs lighter, then obviously your not as big as him,
but 200lbs @ 5'6 is big, actually nearly very big, but that might be due to the fact that 5'6 is small,
200 @ 6'4 is nothing special, hell, you might look lankey, but you'll have the same muscle volume as the smaller guy, he looks smallerNow All We Need Is A little Energon And A Lot of Luck

I'm 5'8....right now about 208. I'm bulking right now, so I'm usually more in the 195 range (Hopefully be a solid 200 by the time I'm done cutting and all). A few years ago when I was hovering around 185, I was bigger than most of my friends, and people told me all the time that I was big, so I assumed that I was
As I got more knowledgable about the sport and began talking to people around here, I realized that I wasn't half as big (or strong) as I thought I was. It makes you kind of sad at first, but then you see it as a challenge, and makes you want to achieve more. I've made more progress in the past 2 years than I did in the first 5 (other than the newbie gains).
I'm not sure what my ultimate goal for mass is. I wish to maintain a certain amount of speed and agility along with my size and strength, so I work on those things as well as straight up bodybuilding. I might find that there's a point where these things become mutually exclusive, but I have yet to reach that point. I suppose I won't know until I get there. In 1945, Adolf Hilter died and went to Hell. Satan asked, "why are you in Hell?" That doesn't prove anything.
You're using 200 bodyweight, which I only said would be extremely difficult.
You're also taller than him and seem to have better genetics than him.
Plus, better gains in 2 years than 5 years (including beginner gains) sounds a little suspicious to me - no offense, but the guy was talking about natural gains.
Mybodysucks, because of your height, you won't be able to get as big as a guy of average height. But, because of your height, you won't need to.
I promise you, you will be able to look big at a weight where a taller guy would look average.Last edited by Blood&Iron; 10-15-2004 at 02:38 PM.

Think about it in terms of pounds of bodyweight per inch of height. At 5'11 and 257lb competition weight, Ronnie Coleman has 3.6lbs of bodyweight per inch cut.
Now since we're talking about someone who's not a steroid freak, let's cut it down to say, 2.6. So for a guy who's 66 inches tall, "big" would be about 170lbs.
I don't know how much steroids would really add, but I'd consider 170lbs for 5'6 pretty big, for being all natural.
