    I'm new here, so I don't know too much about how it affects your body (although I imagine there are dozen more effect HIIT exercises out there for cardio/weight loss etc). What I do know is that tae bo is often touted as being great for fitness and self defense. In reality, it's about as good for self defense as good tennis skills.

    I have to fully agree here, tae bo is good for girls that want to get "toned" and thats about it. Sure it could be fun, but take up something like Tae Kwon Do... much more physical and much more fun. True karate is awesome for self defense and a 2-3 hour training session is enough to put you on your ass if you have a good teacher.
