    need help with joint/tendon supplements

    hello bb.com'ers.

i'm fairly new here, i've been stocking the boards from some time. i did do a search on joint supp's but i have a few questions.

i've seen different forms of supps for joints/tendon's

    1. shark cartilage supps
    2. collagen supps
    3. chondroiton/glucosomine
    4. msm
    5. chondroiton/glucosomine/ms

of these supps, which is superior? wouldn't collagen supp's be the best?

thanks for your input, i'm about to start a serious weight training bulk cycle soon and from reading here, joint/tendon supp's help with slight pain and discomfort.

SAN Bone Boost is the best supp for joints.
I do not work for any supplement company, I am on bb.com to share feedback on supplements and to try to help people with the little knowledge I have. **Please note this**

Animal Flex and Supercissus Rx are great products for the joints.

Chondroiton, Glucosomine and MSM are good products and can be found together in most joint supplements. Prolab do one with these 3 in and is reasonably priced too.

    Agreed on Super Cissus Rx
Animal Flex worked well for me too.
NOW's Glucosamine, MSM, and Chondroitin worked well.

But for me, nothing compares to Super Cissus Rx.

bloute i checked on san bone boost, yikes, thats alot of pills to take, i wonder if any of these are available in powder form so i can add them to my shakes.

so guys, which is better, collagen or chondroiton/glucosomine/msm?

i went to a health food store and they said collagen is better because you body metabolizes it and turns it back into collagen in your body. i trust your info. more.

Just adding an x2 to the other posts that said to go ahead and try Super Cissus, many people I've talked to have experienced relief from joint pain within a relatively short amount of time (a few weeks) while taking it. G+C+M can take a little while to kick in, but I've been taking NOW G+C+M for about 2 months and my joint pains are gone, so you can try that if you want something a little cheaper.

Long and short of it. Glucosamine sucks. Cissus RX is a damn joint miracle drug. Hydration, Hydration, Hydration... and toss any movements that cause too much pain. Should be able to stick with flat bench. I can't really do dips, skulls, overhead DB triceps extensions. CAN do rope pressdowns.

    Yeah. That about covers it.

Cissus RX - This is something I recommend to anyone who has tried Glucos/chond. and hasn't gotten the results they wanted. Cissus is a naturl herb used for healing damage to tendons, ligaments, muscles, etc. It has worked very well for me. These caps are 600mg each, with a good dose being 3-4g per day. I take 6 caps when I'm bulking (more stress on the joints), which means a bottle lasts about 30-40 days. $25 for 180-200caps.

I was directed to Cissus RX by a trusted friend after developing Tendonitis in my left elbow and a connective tissue strain in my right shoulder, both of which were hindering my lifting efforts and causing me pain 24/7. Cissus RX is an extract of the Cissus Quadrangularis herb that has been used for centuries in India and is in capsule form. I always approach herbal supplements with a certain skepticism as I figure, "if it's been around so long and works so well, why haven't I heard of it before?". I had tried the simple ground up herb cissus quadrangularis, but had to discontinue taking it after a week or so due to the courseness of the powder. It was like trying to drink sand mixed with water, and left my throat raw. Enter trusted friend! He told me about the Cissus RX and because I do trust his opinions on many things, I tried it. I also contacted other board members here that had mentioned it in various posts and received good remarks from them regarding it's use.
I took 6 caps/day for two weeks and admittedly, for the first week and a half, I didn't notice much difference, but then I noticed that I was able to sleep easier. The next step was noticing more range of motion without pain in both of my problem areas. By the beginning of the second week, I was PAIN FREE for the first time in months! Now before you say that I could have done the same thing with normal ancdotes (Glucosamine, MSM, Chondroitin, fish oils etc) let me tell you that I have had two arthroscopic surgeries and a reconstructive surgery all on my left knee. I have taken all of these products for years and they have been quite effective at keeping the knee fluid and strong. Cissus RX targets tendons and connective tissue that these "normal" supps don't do much for. From MY experiences with Cissus RX I would, and have recommended it to friends. I post this here to help others who may be looking for some help with tendonitis or other connective tissue issues without much success. I have no affiliation of any sort to anyone that sells Cissus RX, so I get nothing out of this at all. I only post this information because it worked wonders for me and hopefully will for others as well.
It's a solid "does what it says it will" supplement and deserves a look.
    See ya on the boards!

Glucosomine certainly does not suck. I started lifting 5 months ago and i had extreme joint pain, especially in my hands and knees.

I developed trigger finger in both my hands also. When i started of on glucosmine i was taking 2000mg a day or so. I didnt do much. I upped it to 10,000 mg a day for a week, and my trigger finger went away and my knees no longer crack.

Ive since dropped my intake down to 2000mg again for the last 2 months and i have no joint pain or cracking knees.

And i tried taking a week off and my trigger finger came back.

    So its not crappy.

edit: I have not tried the other products you listed, im jsut giving my experience with glucosmine.

    I do 3/3.

thats bout 2000mg a day gluc and 1450msm.

U could also jsut buy some cheap gluc/msm and make sure it works for you first. Like i said, i had to load 10.000mg a day for it to kick in.

Cosco got a huge bottle for like 10 bux.
